Most of us are used to being told by our  elders that it is good to have a hearty breakfast, a good lunch and the dinner of a pauper. Most of us are of the idea that taking sugar helps us to feel energetic and make it a point to include it in the cereal we have for breakfast. But one would be surprised to know of this little known fact about food that one’s energy level drops down heavily an hour after breakfast. However it is surprising that cereals with little sugar like fruits, oats, whole grains and other fiber foods are more preferable to be taken during breakfast time.

The next surprising fact about food is that loading your green salads with cheese, croutons and creamy dressings is not good. The fats used in them take a long time to digest and make one feel sluggish and lethargic. The little known fact about food is that instead it is advisable to include proteins like sprouts, lean meats like chicken and lots of green vegetables like tomatoes, broccoli, red and yellow peppers besides spinach, lettuce and parsley to make a wholesome energetic salad.

It is surprising to learn that coffee in excess gives one jitter. This has been a little known fact and most of us believe that coffee helps you to feel real fresh and pepped up. Tea is much better than coffee but must also be drank only in moderation. So follow the fact that if you must take coffee it is better to have it before the noon and have tea at all other times.

Fresh fruits supply more water to our body that makes us real pepped up and energetic. Dry fruits are best taken after a workout . The other little known fact about food, which is quite surprising, is that it is best to have popcorn or multigrain snacks than low calorie baked snacks. Popcorn and multigrain snacks supply a person with energy at regular intervals. The other snacks sap ups one’s energy faster.
