Steps to be Taken to Avoid Excess Sleep

Some of us do not feel relaxed and that we have had enough sleep even after seven to eight hours of sleep in night. This may be due to the fact that we may not have a real restful sleep at night. The other reason could also be that one sleeps for seven to eight hours but has a tendency especially on weekends to try to sleep more. This action actually expends our energy trying to stay in bed. Besides it slows out our metabolism and makes us feel lazy, drowsy and sleepy.

Here are some reasons to not sleep till late and how you can set right that practice. Sleeping late or lingering in bed after one has got up lowers the blood pressure of the person and makes him feel weak and decreases the strength of his muscles. Low blood pressure is as bad if not more bad than high blood pressure. So take the first step of getting up briskly as soon as your alarm rings and open the curtains to let in some fresh air and sunlight.

The next step is to be brisk and go make yourself a cup of hot coffee or tea and go enjoy the natural beauty outside your house. It would also help going for a morning walk or doing some exercises to kick start the day in a good fashion. If you get up early you could start off all your activities of the day faster and the more you accomplish the more energetic and healthy you will feel to take up more activity. Believe me the more your work during the day you will be in a better position to enjoy a good nights sleep.

Some people who wish to enjoy a good nights sleep and wake up early have problems when their partner in bed snores or is a late sleeper. Then you should take the step to make sure the lights are put off promptly at night. Then prod your partner to sleep on his/her side, this helps to decrease the snoring in such persons. Besides advice him/her to not consume alcohol just before going to bed.

Sometimes anti allergic drugs, pain killers and anti depressants and caffeine withdrawal symptoms may make a person drowsy. If it is very annoying it is best to consult your doctor regarding the dosage or whether they can be had only at dinner times.

You can avoid excess sleep and lead a healthy and happy life if you take all these steps that are sure to help you.
