After the long cold winters the slightest signs of sun can cause a smile on your face and a leap in your heart to run out and make the most of it. One of the most common disasters of this act is burnt skin. Whether slight or heavy burns; your skin can hurt and cause a lot of discomfort. There are a few home remedies that help to take care of the discomfort that your skin goes through as a result of the burn.

Start off with a cool compress on the area. A cold bath always helps to soothe the skin. One must avoid taking a shower as the force of the water on your skin can cause a lot of irritation and a burning sensation on the skin.

Never use oil on the affected area. You can use a moisturizing cream as your skin needs to be replenished with water. The gel or plant extract of the Aloe Vera is extremely soothing and can help to calm your skin drastically. The gel is cooling and helps to add moisture to your skin as well.

A common plant found near lake sides; the Touch- me- not is popular in healing skin rashes. Simply take the root of the plant and grind it in a blender to make a paste. Apply this paste on the burning skin to get instant relief.

Potatoes seem to be extremely helpful in the cure of a sun burn as well. Simply wash and peel the potatoes and blend them. Add about half a cup of water and blend till the juice is fine. Then paste the juice on the affected area and let it stay on for half an hour before washing it off. The juice of the potato will be absorbed by the skin and you will begin to feel relief within a few minutes. Continue this for a few days till the sin has healed.

Using home remedies are cost effective, you have little to no risks of side effects and they are effective remedies.
