Symptoms and Cures for Andropause
What is Andropause?
Andropause is the male version of menopause. It is a change in the hormonal levels in a man’s body where the levels of hormones decline drastically.
What are the symptoms of Andropause?
A decrease in the sex drive is one of the first symptoms that you will notice. In addition to that you will also notice a drastic change in the size of the testicles, loss of hair in the armpit area, decrease in the sperm count, lethargy, depression, lowered bone density and loss of muscle strength are the other symptoms of the on coming hormonal changes.
Around the age of 50 to 70 men will complain of loss of sex drive and general tiredness and mood swings.
Steps to help you combat stress at this stage of life
You must not neglect exercise when you are going through this stage of life. Walking for 30 minutes 3 to 4 times a week will help you to stay fit and healthy and reduce the possibility of mood swings. Exercise also helps to lower your anger levels.
You must also rest and relax. Sleeping for 6 to 7 hours at night and resting during the day will also help to ease the aches and pains that are a part of this change in your life.
You must remember that the changes in your life are positive and you must adjust to the changes that are going on in you internally.
You must also eat a healthy diet that is rich in Vitamins and minerals. Eating protein rich food will help you to keep up your energy levels and fiber will keep you fit. Avoid eating fast foods, fried foods and those that are rich in sugar. Refined sugars have adverse effects on your body and cause mod swings once your body finishes processing the sugars. Do not load up on carbohydrates but opt for whole grains instead. A well balanced diet with regular exercise will help you to maintain your energy levels as well as helps you to go through this phase with comfort and ease.
