The cold weather combined with eating more food that your body demands leads to one falling sick. There are several ailments that you may suffer from during this season and you need to take care of yourself and protect yourself in order to beat illness.
One way to start is by protecting your skin. Extremely dry skin can lead to severe issues later on and hence you must have a skin care routine. Most people pass of skin care issues to the change in weather and thus do not take care of this condition.
If you have broken skin then you must take care of this skin as it may have small points of broken skin that may lead to bleeding if not taken care of. If the skin is very dry then it can also leave scars of the dry area. In order to take care of this you must bathe in warm water and use a loofah to get rid of the dry skin and dead cells.
I do not recommend using an exfoliating cream during winter as it can damage the dry skin. After a bath use a moisturizer your skin well in order to add hydration to the skin. This will prevent the skin from drying and causing cracks on the skin.
Though you may not feel thirsty; drinking water regularly and maintaining your hydration levels is vital. You must drink 8 glasses of water daily and also eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. In order to avoid viruses avoid eating foods that are not well processed. Also make sure that you are not overeating; binging can lead to you being extremely ill.
Do not have your heaters too high in the house. Going from extreme cold to extreme heat can cause a lot of confusion and you body may not react well to this change. Also avoid drinks that are too hot. Teas and coffees are not meant to be had piping hot but you can have them warm.
