Citric acid is a natural acid and preservative. It is found on citrus fruits and it is used in almost every industry that you can imagine; though it is most popular in the food industry. It has a positive impact on one’s health and thus it has gained popularity.

The acid is known for its restorative powers. If you suffer from heartburn, acidity, bloating or flatulence and belching then you must drink a glass of lemon water. It has a high concentration of citric acid and acts as a natural aid for any symptoms of indigestion. It also helps to aid bowel movements thereby preventing constipation.

The acid acts as a preservative that helps to fight the bacterial breakdown. The main foods that contain citric acids are citrus fruits like oranges, limes, grapefruits and lemons. If you eat citrus fruits and drink the juice of these fruits then you are helping your body to fight many diseases. It has a good impact on kidney stones and if you are diagnosed with them then you must ensure that you indulge in these fruits as often as possible. The more citric acid you produce in your urine the lesser likely you are going to have any stone formations.
