It is simple procedure and there are various options available for men and women. Why go to a professional and spend money when you can get it done with a little effort in the comfort of your house?
Start of by removing any evidence of old nail polish on your nails. Always use a nail polish remover, never use acetone as the latter causes nail damage. Clip your nails to the desired length and then file them. While filing your nail remember to start from the outside and work your way to the top of the nails. Choose to file your nails in the shape that you feel comfortable. Don’t keep your nails too long as they do not look pleasant and hamper your daily activities. Once you are done filing your nails soak your hands in warm water with a fee aromatic oils and mild soap. This helps to soften the cuticles and the palms of your hands. Remove your hands from the water before your nails begin to look like prunes. Towel dry gently.
Use a little cuticle cream on your nails ad massage in to remove the dead cells. With the help of an orange stick push back the cuticles. Do not cut them as this will cause an infection. Never use any metal objects to push back your cuticles as the metal may do more harm than good.
Use a good moisturizing cream and massage your hands gently for a few minutes. Wipe your hands on a towel to eliminate any signs of oil that may not have been absorbed by your skin. It’s now time to color your tips. Put a clear base coat on and let it dry, follow this by 2 coats of your favorite color. Apply the polish in 3 strokes. Start with the centre and then the other two sides. Finish off with a top coat.
Remember that before you start of your home manicure place all the things that are necessary around you in order to eliminate running around the house looking for your products in the middle of your manicure session.
