There is nothing more disgusting that seeing a woman dressed exceptionally well but has really bad feet. There are several reasons to give yourself a pedicure regularly and in my opinion the most important is that you deserve the pampering.

If you cannot afford to get regular pedicures done in the spa here are several easy steps hat you can follow to get a perfect pedicure at home.

Begin by seating yourself in a comfortable chair placing a wide basin in front of you. Put warm water in the bucket with mild soap and work up a foam. Add Epsom salt and essential aromatic oils like eucalyptus or lavender to the water for a soothing smell.

Use a nail polish remover to remove traces of old nail polish on your skin. Rub a few drops of olive oil or baby oil on your skin to take care of dead or dried cuticles. Clip your toe nails and file them in a desired shape. Toe nails look best when rounded. Always keep toe nails short.

It is now time to soak your feet in the warm water. Keep your feet in the water till as long as the water is warm or as long as your feet feel relaxed. Soak a foot file in the water and begin to rub it on the soles of your feet and around your toes to remove dead skin. Do not rub too hard as you may damage the skin on your feet. Towel dry your feet and begin with the cuticle removal. Put a few drops of cuticle cream on your nails and with the help of an orange stick push back the cuticles. Do not cut them for fear of infection. If you feel your cuticles need a trim then I suggest that a professional help you out with this dilemma.

Use an exfoliating cream built specially for feet to take care of dead skin. Follow up with a moisturizing cream. Massage the cream into your skin well and wipe of the extra traces of oil.

Its now time to paint your peepers. Choose the colors of the season or one that suits your personality best. Apply a translucent base coat, followed by 2 coats of your favorite color and ensure that they dry off before you can put on your shoes.

Remember quick dry nail polishes peal off faster than normal dry ones.
