The problem of bone spur

Bone spur is the development of small bones around a joint. When the joint area due to an injury or some other reason gets enlarged, bone spur is formed in that area. It can also be formed due to the problem of arthritis. The old aged people are always at a higher risk of bone spur. Aging is a major factor leading to bone spur.

The bone spur occur at the back of spine. Due to bone spur, the person suffering from this problem experiences pain while moving that joint. In some cases the bone spur can result in severe health complications. Bone spur can appear around the heel, elbows, feet and toes, arms, legs and thighs. The people suffering from osteoarthritis are at higher risk of getting the problem of bone spur. Spur formation around a joint may affect the nervous system or can result in bone infection.

The main causes of bone spur are the aging, physical instability, injury, arthritis and other diseases affecting the bones of our body. As the pain due to bone spur is consistent and taking medication for a longer term can lead to other health complications, it is always advisable to go for some home based remedies for treatment of bone spur. These remedies have been proved to be very effective a number of times. Taking footbath alternatively on hot and cold can give relief in case of bone spur. A balanced diet, intake of fruits in proper amount, taking foods rich in calcium etc can be helpful in reducing the symptoms of bone spur.

In case the pain due to bone spur is really intolerable, we can apply flaxseed hot pack around the affected area. It will be of great help in reducing pain. Taking curcumin while rising from the bed in the morning can be helpful in treatment of bone spur. Taking 500 mg or more curcumin 3 times daily before taking food can give a great relief. Heating pad can also be used to reducing symptoms of bone spur. Applying ice pack around the affected area can also help in reducing bone spur. In case these remecies are not helpful, consulting a doctor is always advisable.
