The Problem Of Isolated Systolic Hypertension

Isolated systolic hypertension is a condition in which the blood pressure of our body increases at very slow pace. The increase in blood pressure is too mild to be noticeable. As a matter of fact, it takes many years for hypertension to become readable. Therefore on long term, high blood pressure can be a symptom of isolated systolic hypertension.
Initially there is a slight increase in the blood pressure and this increase causes no problem in overall function of the heart and the blood circulation of the person suffering from this disease seems to be normal. But gradually increase in the blood pressure due to isolated systolic hypertension becomes visible as it makes the blood pressure high enough to be readable. In most of the case the blood pressure goes beyond 140 mark and hence we are able to notice the symptoms of isolated systolic hypertension.
However, not in all cases the reason for high blood pressure can be isolated systolic hypertension. A doctor’s diagnosis can confirm the reason for the same.
Various causes of isolated systolic hypertension include over weight, aging, smoking and drinking alcohol, increased sugar level etc. If has been found recently that the life style, eating habits and old age are the factors responsible for the problem of isolated systolic hypertension. Sedentary life patter, eating unhealthy and fast food are the other factors leading to this problem.
Earlier old age was not considered to be responsible for the problem of isolated systolic hypertension, but recent researches and studies have proved that old age is also a factor that can lead to this problem. It has been reported that a major fraction of the people suffering from isolated systolic hypertension belong to the age group of 60 and above.
Regular exercise and healthy diet are the key factors to avoid this problem. Avoid fatty food as it lead to the problem of over weight and over weight people are always at higher risk of getting the problem of isolated systolic hypertension. As every one of us is aware that obesity is becoming a common problem in today’s society and hence the fraction of people facing the problem of isolated systolic hypertension is growing with a remarkable growth rate. The cholesterol level of your body should be under control and a regular check up with the doctor is advisable.
