While you may feel confident to use these products always remember that too much of a certain product may be harmful. Before you start using any product or aromatic oils please make sure that you have knowledge about the product.

Remember in their natural form, concentrate oils can be extremely harmful. Always dilute your oils before use. If you are using these oils in your bath, make sure you just have a few drops in your tub. An overdose of oils in your bath may be fatal as some oils may even be toxic.

Remember essential oils are never consumed, even in their dilute form. If bathing your children with these oils please make sure that they are not drinking their bath water as most children tend to do so during bath time.

Never use any oils directly on your skin. Lavender oil and tea tree oil are an exception to the rule. Some of the side effects of the oils are nausea, skin damage, headaches and rashes or allergic reactions.

Be cautious about the use of aromatic oils if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The strong scents may harm the baby and put the child off feeding thus causing health issues from the neo natal stage.

While research has not proved the use of aromatic oils in the case of Cancer patients, one must be cautious about the use of such oils without the permission of the doctor in charge. While the oils may sooth the patient and relax the stress level, the oils may also negate any prescription drugs that are being used for the cure of the ailment.

So by and large while the use of aromatic oils has been gaining popularity the world over, one must be cautious about it’s use and make sure that you visit a certified practitioner who will guide you.
