Tips and Techniques to Take Care of Weak Knees
Feeble, weak or wounded knees are a setback that many people face and have to live with. This could be due to events that you might have encountered on the sports field, while learning to ride a bike, due to an accident or various other reasons. Dealing with weak knees and going through life due to this condition is very painful and distressing.
There are however a few things that one could adopt to significantly reduce the pain and lead a somewhat normal life. There are a few home remedies that have helped to reduce the pain. For example you can take one spoon of vinegar and mix it thoroughly with one spoon of honey. Once this is done this concoction can be mixed in a cup of tea and should be had as hot as possible.
You can also try using different types of knee braces that would help support the knee and keep the knee cap in place if the cartilage is damaged. There are different types of braces that are readily available each having their own unique features and benefits.
The most common would be the simple elastic based knee braces which are not bulky and awkward and can be worn under normal clothing without being seen.
Gentle exercise of the quadriceps muscles is a must as studies have shown that this helps reduce the pain caused due to weak or injured knees.
Vitamin supplements like collagen and glucosamine sulfate should be adopted as these help to mend the harm caused to the knee. Many women experience weak knees and pain especially after pregnancy. Trying to lose the extra pounds that one has put on and keeping your weight under control helps to get rid of weak knee issues or prevent it from developing.
As a precaution though one must remember that if exercises are causing the pain in the knee area to get aggravated then they should consult an orthopedic for further recommendations or maybe surgery.
