The factors which encourage the deposition of plaque are gap size, shape of the teeth, size of the teeth and shape of the gums. Long term deposition and inflammation of high degree can lead to the problem of gingivitis. Once gums get affected by the gingivitis this increases the chances of plaque deposition by widening the gap between teeth and gums.

Teeth and gums diseases can sometimes result in fatal consequences. For example inflammation due to long term gingivitis can enter into the body and thereafter can spread in whole body through bloodstream. Therefore utmost care is needed to keep gums and teeth disease free.
