Avoid Caffeine Or Sugar

Firstly avoid all caffeinated drinks at least 4 hours prior to bed time, also avoid eating foods that are high in sugar content for dinner, this tends to make you hyper.


Warm Milk And Honey

Apart from many medicinal properties, honey also works as a sedative. Try having a cup of warm milk with a tea spoonful of honey 20 mins before you hop into bed.

Chamomile Tea

If the thought of milk makes you cringe, try chamomile tea. It helps soothe and calm tired muscles. Try having a cup or maybe even two, after dinner.


Natural Oils

A variety of natural oils are easily available at all aroma therapy stores. These can be directly applied to your skin, but in very small quantities as these are highly concentrated. Add a few drops to a hot bath and soak in it for 20 mins. Make sure this is the last thing on your ‘to-do’ list for the day.

If you don’t have the luxury of time for a bath, take a hot shower instead and sprinkle some essential oil on your pillow. Most of us like to read or watch television before falling asleep, purchase some aroma therapy candles or oil diffusers, light them, put on some soothing music and unwind with a book, which is a preferred option as compared to television.
