We all have lead lives where we occasionally have a sleepless night. However there are a few unfortunate cases where people lead sleepless night almost daily. This causes havoc in their daily schedule as they are drowsy during the day; some are irritated while the others are just low on their productivity levels.

If you can’t sleep at night then you must get out of bed. Tossing and turning for hours on end will not help you in any way, in fact you stand a chance of getting even more stressed out.

Try listening to some relaxing slow music the kind that you can sing along to. Don’t play music that will get you procrastinating or thinking about any events that will stress you out. The key is to have music that will help you to sleep. What you can do is play music from nature like ‘Sounds of the Earth’.

Try doing some light work that is monotonous and get you bored. It will help to put you to sleep. I normally try sewing. Just the thought of the task gets me to sleep. Students normally try getting to their books.

Drawing yourself a warm bath before bed on a daily basis helps to relax your muscles and helps to get you in sleep mode quickly. If you suffer from chronic insomnia then you can try a few aromatic essential oils like lavender or chamomile in your bath water to reduce your stress and anxiety levels.

Eating a banana will help. It is heavy to digest and makes you lethargic; the perfect remedy for you.

Take a brisk walk around your neighborhood. The fresh air will clear your respiratory system and the workout will induce sleep naturally. You will return home exhausted and waiting to hit the sack.
