The increasing number of skin cancer cases causes an alarm and a need to take preventive measures to protect ones self. If detected early it can be treated; else it could be fatal.
One must take care to protect their skin against the harmful UV rays of the sun. Wear protective sunscreen lotion when you are out in the open and are exposed to the sun even if it is for a short period of time. If you are in the water or are sweating re apply the lotion to keep your skin safe.
When at the beach or places where you are exposed to large volumes of sun, you must wear a hat. This helps to keep the sun away from your face, shoulders and head. A scarf gives you equal protection against the sun and makes a fashion statement as well.
Avoid over exposing your skin to the sun and causing your sin to tan. This can lead to your skin getting burnt or getting skin rashes.
The first sign of the cancerous growth is the appearance of moles. These are tiny round flat substances that appear on your skin. They are not always cancerous but it does not hurt to see a doctor immediately after you see one of these ugly growths. If you fell any irregularities in your skin like bumps and warts that appeared suddenly then you must see a skin care specialist immediately to diagnose the cause of the growths on your body. Look out for them on your back, on your neck and in between the webs of your toes and fingers.
Wear protective sun glasses to help to keep the sun away from your eyes. The skin around your eyes is extremely delicate and hence one must protect them.
Do not skip protecting your skin on days that are not hot or days that are cloudy. The harmful rays of the sun penetrate through the cloudiest days and can cause havoc on your skin.
