All of us are aware that for our boy to function normally adequate blood supply is very important. Bad blood circulation due to lack of exercise or age related issues could result in swelling and leave you feeling rather unwell.

Our heart keeps working all along and pumps blood to the entire body. So it is important to improve our blood circulation in order to have a healthy heart. The heart not only pumps blood but also purifies it. There is a constant supply of impure blood to the heart, which gets purified and then pumped out again.

Regular exercise or even a simple 30 minute walk everyday helps improve blood circulation. When we exercise, our heart beats increase, which only means it starts functioning faster than normal and the process of blood purification and circulation happens at a faster pace and more blood is pumped to and out of the heart.

For people who complain of swollen feet or your job or lifestyle requires you to be on your feet for most part of the day, try elevating your legs to almost a 90 degree angle at the end of the day. When you get home try lying down and rest your legs on a wall or lie flat on the floor and put your legs up on chair or sofa and rest in that position for at least 3o mins. Watch television or read a book and relax. This way you are forcing the blood to travel up towards your heart and this can provide immense relief to tired legs.

Tie a crepe bandage all the way from your knees to down your ankles and keep it on for the full day, take it off before sleeping, this helps people who cannot be mobile due to health reasons and complain of swollen feet.

Try looking for medical socks which are made to increase blood circulation. These will be available in specialty stores.

A simple massage can also help, try looking for special oils made for blood circulation or even regular oils can be rubbed on the legs or hands. If you are doing this yourself make sure you massage in the upward direction. This helps the blood travel to the heart. Alternately, look for a massage parlor where you have trained professionals give you a massage for the best results.
