The summer sun gets most of us to shed our clothes. In the attempt to beat the heat we must also have a good skin care regime to help you take care of your skin and hair and avoid sun damage.

Before you go out into the sun you must coat your cuticles with UV protection hairspray. This will help to save your tresses when you go out into the sun and prevent the pigments in your hair from lightening. It also helps to prevent your hair from getting frizzy and hair loss.

You must also use hair products that protect your hair from the sun.

To protect your skin from sun burn you must not leave the house before slathering on a rich amount of calamine lotion on all exposed parts of your body. It prevents the agonizing sun burns, itching and pain that is a result of the sun burn.

If by some unfortunate circumstances you do expose your skin to the sun and end up with a nasty tan then you can use sunburn relief gels to help your skin to soothe the burns and reduce the burning effect. If you use Aloe Vera all over your tanned skin you will avoid the peeling.

Your diet must consist of products that have a stock of antioxidants. Tea, soy , lemon and sesame are some such foods that help you to reduce the effect of the sun burn and helps to prevent pigmentation.

Water is your best friend. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin well hydrated and help to avoid drying of your skin. Doctors recommend 8 to 10 glasses of water. Keep a bottle handy with you at all times.

Most cosmetics these days have in- built sunscreens. Lipsticks, foundations and eye make up are now mostly made with an SPF as high as 30. Opt for these products in order to help you to get additional protection from the sun.
