Joint pain is a widespread problem experienced by almost everybody worldwide. Joint pain is actually a symptom, not a disease. It is ultimately turning into part of everybody’s life, mainly of aged people. Joints are the part of body that is normally at risk of strain and pain.
People with joint problems usually avoid physical activity as most of the physical fitness actions involve bending through the knees and other joints of the body. Joint pain can be due to any physical factor, any physical injury or any other factor like aging. Loss of calcium from joints and bones due to some drugs or medicines can also be responsible for joint pain. Any injury to the ligaments, bones or cartilage can cause joint pain. Pain in joints is also a feature of arthritis.
Reason can be any, but prevention is always necessary. Regular exercise is essential to sustain healthy joints and bones. It prevents arthritis and osteoporosis at early stages. A person should be careful enough not to do excess exercise at a time, as this can increase the risk of stress over the muscles and joints. It is good to slowly raise the amount and level of physical exercise over the time. A person should eat healthy and nutritious food and should include calcium rich components in diet. A balanced amount of protein should also present in diet as it helps in building healthy tissues and bones.
A smoker is at the greater risk of joint pain as it affects the cartilage surrounding the joints. It is very necessary to get ways for reducing or eliminating stress from the life by meditation and yoga. It is always good to consult a doctor before starting an exercise plan. A doctor can suggest appropriate exercise. Proper sitting, walking and sleeping postures should be followed and correct mattresses should be used. Sugar and artificial sweeteners should be avoided. Activities like Walking, Cycling and Swimming can be also helpful. Too much of pain killers and sleeping tablets should not be used. Taking appropriate amount of cod liver oil is good. Fruits rich in Vitamin C such as Orange and Gooseberries are helpful. Carrot juice is also helpful to in problems related to joint pain.
