Treat MRSA Skin Infections with Home Treatments

MRSA is a skin infection that is dreaded by most doctors as it spreads quickly and it is resistant to most anti biotic medications. The infection does respond well to home treatments and hence most people infected now opt to treat the infection at home. If you notice a boil on your skin that is caused by MRSA then you may use home treatments for 36 to 48 hours. If the skin does not react well to the treatment then you will need to visit a doctor immediately.

The first thing you need to do when you notice a boil is to wash it with warm water and 35 hydrogen peroxide solution. If the boil has a hard scab on the surface then you will need to soak a towel in hot water and dab it on the scab. You must disinfect the towel after you use it in order to prevent spreading the bacteria to other parts of your body or to others in the household. The bacteria will travel to other clothes if you keep it in the hamper. It is best to use disposable towels.

You need to use a topical treatment on your skin in order to treat the boil. Mix clay with water and add a few drops of grape fruit seed extract to this paste. The anti bacterial properties of the grape extract will soak out all the infection and heal the boil in a few days. The paste must be slightly thicker than toothpaste.

Use a thick layer of the paste on your skin and wrap it with a bandage and keep it covered for an hour. After this you must wash the paste with warm water. If the infection has spread to the surrounding area then you must keep the paste on your skin overnight and wash it in the morning.

After you wash the area with warm water rinse it with hydrogen peroxide and then wrap it with a bandage.

This treatment will help to reduce the pain as well as clear the infection completely. You will need to repeat this treatment 5 to 6 times in the day in order for it to be effective.
