Our eyes are our windows to the world thus we need to do everything in our power to prevent any damage to our eyes. Factors such as dust, pollution, heat and allergies have a negative impact on our eyes. Though there is very little that we can do to prevent this damage we must attempt to do as much as we can. There are several home remedies that you can try in your attempt to prevent and cure eye infections. Remember, the safest thing that you can do is to always wear sun glasses when you step out during the day; this will prevent dust from entering into your eyes as well as prevent the harmful radiation affecting your eyes.
Some of the common issues with the eyes are redness of the eyes caused by lack of sleep or during warm months, irritation in the eyes or itching as a result of an infection, watery discharge from the eyes or pink eyes; a viral contagious disease.
If you have sty in your eye then you must apply a warm compress to the eyes. Soak a towel in hot water and ring out the water and apply the hot towel to your eyes in order to get rid of the sty. Alternatively you could also use a hot tea bag, not too hot though as you do not want to burn your eyes in your attempt to cure them.
If you have a swelling on or around the eyes then you must boil water with turmeric and use the water as eye drops or wash your eyes with the water. This will help to reduce the puffiness and swelling. If the swelling is a result of some sort of infection then you must soak coriander seeds overnight in water and use it in the morning as an eye wash. You could also grind the seeds to form a paste and apply it to the eyes.
