Uses and Benefits of Tee Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is native to Australia and is effective in the use of a variety of skin and health disorders. The oil is known to be useful in eliminating bacteria, treating infections and in curing skin diseases that are spread by fungal infections.
Skin care benefits
Tea tree oil is effective in the cure of acne and pimples. The oil kills the bacteria and takes care to get rid of them permanently thereby helping to prevent further breakouts. If you are in your teen years; then use tea tree oil based astringent during the day and a lotion during the night. You can also use a tea tree based face wash for the day and a facial peel off mask once or twice a week.
The oil is also effective in preventing body odor and preventing foot odor. Massage the oil onto areas of your body that you tend to perspire from. Also adding the oil to your bath water and soaking in the water for a few minutes before you wash and lather your skin.
Dandruff is caused as a result of dry and flaky skin. Massaging the oil into your scalp and keeping it over night can help to reduce the flakiness. Doing this several times a week can help to get rid of the dandruff completely.
Tea tree oil helps to fight fungal infections and thereby helps to reduce the possibility of warts and yeast infection.
In today’s market you will find a range of cosmetic products that are tea tree based. Lip balms, lotions, shampoos, soaps and toothpastes are the most common. One must be cautious about the use or rather over use of the product as it can cause skin irritation if used in large quantities. If your skin starts to itch or begins an irritation then you are allergic to tea tree oil. Also remember that the oil is for external use only and cannot be ingested in any form, doing so make be life threatening.
