Vitamins and Herbs that Help to Improve Your Vision
Having and maintaining healthy eyes are not an easy task in today’s day and age. Most people suffer from vision problems by the age of 16 nowadays. The causes of this are varied. In some cases it is due to genetics and hereditary factors while in most other cases it is due to lifestyle. In the first scenario there is not much that one can do to overcome the situation however, in the second scenario you can make a few changes that can help you have healthy eyes.
Wearing UV coated sunglasses, getting an annual eye examination done and eating plenty of fruits and vegetables all help to improve the longevity of your eyesight. There are also a few other natural remedies which take the help of vitamins and herbs to help you improve and maintain healthy eyes.
If you are suffering from red or irritated eyes then you need to steep 2 tablespoons of eyebright herb in 2 cups of hot water for about 3 minutes. Strain and dip the cotton balls in the cooled liquid and wipe the eyes with it.
To help improve your vision in the night you need to mix about 30 drops of vaccinium myrtillus (Bilberry) with about 8 ounces of water and have this 3 times a day. Drinking 2 glasses of blueberry juice a day also helps improve your night vision.
Weak eyes can be helped by having a glass of carrot juice daily. It also helps to look at a green landscape for about 10 – 15 minutes a day for the same problem. Eyestrain can be reduced and relieved by placing cucumber slices on the eyes for about 15 minutes. Green tea that has been steeped and cooled for 5 minutes provided tremendous relief from swelling and puffiness of the eyes.
