What are the Health Benefits of Black Beans?

A serving of hot black beans can make my day. It’s not only the taste that helps to satiate my senses but it offers the nutrition that is required for the body to make my day. Black beans are loaded with fiber. Since they are packed with soluble fiber they help to reduce and control blood cholesterol levels. It is also a great remedy for those with high blood sugar as the beans helps to lower the sugar count in the blood. Added to the fact that these beans are fiber rich they are also low in fat; thus they aid those who are making an attempt to lose weight or control weight gain. The fiber content along with the low fat content ensures that the body does not crave for food and gives a sense of fulfillment.

Amongst all the beans; black beans have the highest amount of anti oxidants. Thus they help to maintain cell damage and also help in repairing damaged cells. They also build resistance by increasing immunity levels.

The protein content in the beans maintains ones energy levels and reduces hunger pangs. Pregnant woman require a rich dose of folate. This vitamin ensures the development of the fetus and prevents the risk of brain and spinal chord damage. The rich folate content also ensures that you have a healthy heart.

The beans also act a prevention of impotence in men. As we age our sex drives deplete but eating black beans regularly reduce the risk of a reduced sex drive or impotence. This is due to the presence of molybdenum. This mineral helps to break down the sulfites that are present in foods; these are the substances in foods that most people are sensitive or allergic to.

Thus one must note that the beans have a few incredible facets to them and one must try and eat a portion or two of these beans on a regular basis. You must try and eat atleast one serving of the beans every fortnight to be able to benefit from them.
