Everyone is aware of the saying,”Early To Bed And early To Rise, Makes A Man Healthy, Wealthy And Wise.” But only an early bed time does not guarantee a sound sleep and give adequate rest to the body. So bed time routine is also important to have a sound and relaxed sleep.
One of the most important necessity is that a person should be alert, cheerful, and energetic after he sleeps for some time. To handle the new responsibilities of the day and to function properly in mind and body every person needs adequate rest; he needs 6 to 8 hours of sleep.
However in today’s world of competition and stress it has become almost impossible for anyone to have a fixed bed time. Even if one does so, one gets used to hearing the late night news or watching soap operas as a bed time routine. Sensational news and scenes add to the stress and tension and retard one having peaceful and adequate sleep. Even a quarrel or tiff with any of your family members could make you tensed at bed time and retard good and sound sleep. So, bed time routine is as important if not more important than bed time.
Now the question arises since bed time routine is more important than bed time what are the activities that should be form a part of the bed time routine to induce good sleep and get back fresh and relaxed? It is a necessity to plan to do something peaceful, cheerful and happy as a part of the bed time routine. Listening to calm soothing music, reading philosophical books, spending happy quality time with your family could help as a part of the bed time routine to induce good sound sleep. Drinking a hot or warm glass of milk as a part of your bed time routine also helps a lot.
Hence, bed time is no doubt important to get enough good sound sleep but bed time routine is important if not more important to get good sound relaxing sleep.
