Drinking Water To Lose Weight


While everyone knows the fact that water makes up more than 75% of the earth, it is also true that about 60% of the human body is water content.

Water is absolutely necessary for the human body to function. All processes taking place in the body need water to function properly.

When trying to lose weight, it is essential to keep up a good intake of water daily. The recommended amount of water is 8-10 glasses of water daily. These need to spread out during the day and should not be gulped down immediately all the time. If you are feeling thirsty, that means you need more water in your body. Try and never let your body feel thirsty.

A lot of your body weight consists of water, so if you are not drinking water in adequate quantities, the body holds even more water back adding to your weight, which is why it is important to drink water. Try and substitute all other drinks in the day such as fruit juices or coffee with water. While fruit juices add unnecessary sugar content, coffee works as a diuretic, i.e. it removes water from the body.

Half an hour before all meals, drink a glass of water, this reduces appetite and makes the digestion of food easier. We often mistake thirst for hunger, every time you feel hungry, try drinking a glass of water, if you still feel hungry, then  only should you eat food.

As the kidneys work towards flushing out the excess toxins in the body, drinking more water means your kidneys don’t work under strain and get rid of excess toxins in the body at a steady pace. This will not only reduce water retention problems in the body, but also give your skin a healthy glow and good elasticity.

To lose weight in a healthy and controlled manner, drink lots of water. This will help you sweat it out, and also discourage fat deposits. The body’s constituency is such that it requires a good amount of water to function in its full capacity. To have a healthy and happy life, you should consume adequate amounts of water daily.
