Alcoholic beverages contain ethanol, which leads to excessive fat buildup in the liver. You can control both alcoholic as well as non alcoholic fatty liver condition by making some dietary and other lifestyle changes.


You should aim at losing your extra weight for which you should follow a well balanced diet and stay away from excessive eating. Eating large amounts of fried foods as well as dark meats should be avoided. Eat lots of green and leafy vegetables daily along with fruits, especially citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, grapefruits, etc.


Eat foods that are high in vitamins and minerals like B-complex, foliate, selenium, sulfur, and manganese. But avoid foods that are high in fats, particularly saturated fats. Foods high in fiber should be eaten and sugary drinks including soda and energy drinks should be avoided from your diet, if you are a fatty liver patient.You should avoid eating simple carbohydrates like desserts and candy. But you should eat complex carbohydrates rich foods like whole grains and brown rice.Though dark meats should not be eaten by the patients of fatty liver disease, they should eat lean white meats like turkey and chicken.
