In the last few years, Reflexology has become very popular all over the world, and there are many people who have experienced benefits from this technique of, exerting pressure on the reflex points of the body to relax and rejuvenate it. Many people think that reflexology is just like massaging or is a form of acupressure. However, reflexology has got nothing to do with these two things. It simply is based on the principle that the human body responds to touch, and exerting pressure on the correct points of the body can prove to be beneficial and improve the overall health of the person.

The lymphatic fluid that runs in the body works in a systematic flow, and this flow improves a lot by going in for reflexology. The lymphatic fluid is actually responsible for draining out the toxins of the body, and when the flow improves, the body is freed of all toxins, and that in turn contributes to our overall fitness.  Also, problems such as muscular stress and strain can be dealt with, and there is also improved blood circulation.

It is believed in the field of reflexology that there is a running force of energy in our body, which helps to activate healthy physical, mental and emotional processes in us.  Often, because of stress or injury, or because of sickness, weakness etc., this energy is reduced. Thus, reflexology aims to bring back this energy, so that the body can regain full health and fitness.

The entire human body is connected from the head to the feet. Thus, reflexes are put on hands and feet, so that they are carried easily to other parts of the body.  Unlike massages, where all body parts are massaged, reflexology only works by exerting pressure on the reflex points in the hands and the feet.

Menstrual cramps, as well as problems of diarrhoea can be reduced with the help of reflexology. Overall, a person feels more rejuvenated, relaxed and active, with an increased flow of energy. There is improved flexibility as well; the person mentally gets relaxed and has a more positive and happy attitude towards life, not to forget calmness and contentment.
