For Good Health

Most often we skip meals and this leave us hungrier. This hunger is compromisingly tentative that we intake twice the normal portion the next time we eat. We may devour on desserts also.

Skipping meals is also in trend to maintain good looks. On skipping meals we are slashing food intake. This restricts daily requirement of calories and our body is pushed in to a starvation mode. Starvation together with regular exercises can damage our health. During starving our muscle mass undergoes metabolism in order to provide calories required for daily needs of the body. Weight reduction on starving is nothing but loss of muscle mass.

On switching back to normal diet we eat more and accordingly the weight increases. The calories we gain from coming back to normal diet are piled up in the form of fat, instead of getting utilized for daily body functions. This is because of the fact that our body loses its ability to cut down calories once we start skipping meals.

If skipping meals is a part of our daily routine it will affect our body. The symptoms of this can be known from dull and dry skin, dizziness and fatigue. If not stopped, it will lead to fluctuating body weight which can result in coronary heart disease, high blood pressure and cholesterol levels and gall stones. Instead of skipping meals and starving our body to reduce weight immediately, we should follow healthy practice of balanced food and regular exercises.

Follow a diet chart that is filled with fruits, leafy greens and other vegetables. Include cereals with bran like whole wheat, brown rice, oat meal etc. in the daily diet. Bran is very helpful in reducing weight as well as in regulating cholesterol or triglycerides levels.

Create a schedule for food intake and strictly follow it. Food intake if restricted to three times a day, along with snacks in between, can help to gain a healthy body. Replace unhealthy food items like soft drinks, fried food items, artificial food etc. with fruits, dry fruits, vegetable salads and fruit juices.

Include pulses, legumes and sprouts in the daily diet. Take one glass of skimmed milk daily. Also, include essential fatty acids contained in small fishes, corn oil, olive oil etc. in the daily diet. Avoid or restrict salt consumption. Drink three liters of water daily for hydration as well as detoxification.

We need to gradually reduce weight through balanced food and workouts in order to stay healthy.
