While there are several foods that you should include in your diet during pregnancy, there are several others that you should avoid. Maintaining good health for you and your baby during pregnancy is possible by avoiding these foods.

Primarily, alcohol and caffeine in any form should be avoided during pregnancy. Secondly, unpasteurized cheese or soft cheeses like Brie etc should also be avoided along with raw meat of any kind. Similarly, raw eggs should also be avoided.

Ensure that you cook your foods properly, especially meat and eggs, before consumption during pregnancy. Fish with high mercury content in it like king mackerel, swordfish, shark etc should be avoided during pregnancy.

Whilst craving during pregnancy is normal, it is important to ensure good health by maintaining a proper diet during pregnancy. Make sure that you avoid junk food or at least keep its intake to the minimum, as it will only help add calories without providing any health.
