Home based remedies for constipation

If you suffer from constipation, then it is advisable to drink a glass of warm water to which the juice of half a lemon and a teaspoon of honey is added, before having anything else in the morning.

Raisins, prunes, dates and figs should be incorporated in your daily diet as they help relieve constipation. Grapes are great constipation remedies and should be consumed daily, at least 350 grams per day to relieve constipation.

Bael fruit is a natural laxative and should be included in your daily diet for curing constipation. Similarly, it helps to chew regularly on licorice sticks, which again help in overcoming constipation. Drinking a mixture of warm milk or water and psyllium husk or Sat Isabgol before going to bed each day will help relieve constipation in the morning.

Constipation remedies at home involves including certain foods in your daily diet while avoiding certain others. Fiber rich foods and grains like fresh vegetables, fruits, brown rice etc should be included in your daily diet to help control and reduce constipation.

On the other hand, fried foods, processed foods, dairy products etc should be avoided to help prevent constipation. Where it is not possible to avoid, it is important to limit the intake of such foods, as this will help in the long run.
