Pregnancy Nausea – How To Deal With It?
One of the toughest things to deal with during pregnancy is nausea. The feeling of morning sickness makes the woman feel heavy on her head, and the feeling sometimes does not remain restricted to the mornings only – it continues throughout the day.
While some feel that the second trimester is the one in which they are most affected by nausea, others think that it is the third trimester. This differs a lot from person to person, but whatever be the trimester, there are some ways in which you can deal with this problem.
Keeping yourself hydrated throughout your pregnancy is extremely important. In winters especially, many of us have a tendency to not drink water. However, if you are pregnant, then you have to make a conscious effort to keep yourself hydrated at all times.
Eating the right kind of food also becomes very important. This is not just important to get rid of the nausea, but also from the health point of view, as your baby eats what you eat. So avoid junk food, alcohol, and smoking, and switch to home cooked food with a lot of salads and juices included in your meals.
Since the feeling of nausea is most irritating and annoying in the morning, it is essential to eat something as quickly as possible after you wake up. Just eat a small snack, and that will help you to feel better. Throughout the day too, make sure that you are never postponing meals and are never hungry. Not eating food for long intervals can prove to be very bad for your health.
You could also try drinking Ginger Tea or Lime Juice in the morning, as that works very well for some women. Ginger Tea especially makes one feel refreshed and rejuvenated.
In the evenings, if you feel suffocated, then you can take small walks outside your house, or in a park to get some fresh air. It is always refreshing to be in the lap of nature.
Also, for some women, there are specific smells or odours which are more nauseating than others. You need to identify these smells for yourself, and avoid them.
