The metabolism rate depends on three things:
1. Level of physical activity.
2. BMR of your body
3. Type of food you eat.
There are ways in which you can increase your metabolism rate which will help you in loosing weight faster.
Never skip your breakfast. When you do not have your breakfast your body thinks that it is starving as you are hungry for more that 8 to 10 hours. Eat small meals, preferably five times in a day. Frequent meals keep your blood sugar level in check and fuels metabolism.
You must eat high fiber carbohydrates as these are difficult to digest and thus have a great thermic effect. Thermic effect basically means the number of calories it takes to absorb or digest the food. In addition to this, foods rich in high fiber are low in calories help in suppressing your appetite.
Eat foods rich in vitamins as our body relies on a number of vitamins and minerals. If you have a deficiency of any vitamin, it may affect your BMR. To keep your BMR at its optimum level you must eat lots of fresh fruits, eggs, green vegetables etc.
Stay well hydrated and drink lots of water and fresh juices. Keep yourself away from sodas, colas, caffeine and other beverages. Cut back on alcohol as it dehydrates your body and thus reduces the BMR. Drinking alcohol in excess can also cause vitamin deficiency in your body.
Have enough proteins as it is very important for proper growth of body. Research has shown that it has a great thermic effect and almost 30 % of calories in proteins are burned during digestion.
Start exercising regularly. Take up some cardiovascular exercises like walking, swimming, jogging. By exercising for 30 minutes in a day, you can burn extra calories and increase the rate of metabolism.
You must remember that metabolism is not the only key to loose weight. It will not compensate for eating unhealthy or eating too much. But if you follow a right eating pattern and above tips, you will surely benefit and burn more calories.
