Ways to Eat Healthier at Work

Is too much work pressure coming in the way of your good health? If you do not seem to find time for exercise and proper meals, here are some easy to follow tips while at work. So no more excuses.

Never skip your breakfast before heading off to work. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it can pull you through a long day ahead. So break that fast and have something healthy like oatmeal with a glass of milk or cereals or anything else you like.

On weekends, buy some fruits for yourself, whichever you like. Keep them in your office desk and make it a point to eat one fruit after lunch. You can eat while working on your laptop and it won’t take your time.

You forget to drink water when absorbed in work. Always keep a bottle of water on your desk so that you can drink it after every short interval. Staying well hydrated improves concentration.

After having your lunch in office, go for a small walk. You can ask your colleague to join you. Avoid discussing office work at this time. Instead talk about something else to refresh your mind.

Buy yourself low calories cereals, almonds, nuts or something healthier to munch rather than biscuits and caffeine. Limit the intake of tea or coffee. Talk to your seniors about installing a small refrigerator in your office instead of a vending machine. All the employees can stock fresh fruits, water and fresh juices.

Try to avoid ordering pizzas during seminars or conferences. Instead order for fresh salads, sandwiches or home made cookies. If you are working on a laptop for long hours, you must take steps to protect your eyes from damage.

Try to get up after every hour and go around for a small walk in your office, exchange a joke with your colleagues. Try to eat foods rich in vitamin A. Do regular neck and shoulder exercises to avoid joint pains. Use office stairs instead of elevator. Try to sit in a proper posture.

Always voice your opinion about the state of office canteen and its food. It will be worth it as health is wealth.
