Double Bun Hairstyle

Women love their hairs and they can carry any length of hairs. There are thousands of hairstyles from women can choose right one themselves. Long haired women have option to style their hairs in buns of different varieties.

Double bun hairstyle is one such popular hairstyle which is comfortable to carry and stylish also. Double buns are often regarded as pigtail buns. This type of double bun is also known as Odango due to its Japanese origin. Generally any bun is called Odango in Japanese. Eponymous actresses of Anime and Manga series used to wear this hairstyle. In addition to these double buns, these characters used to hang two pigtails from the respective ball shaped buns. But double bun does not refer to this hairstyle only. This hairstyle is typically worn by the Chinese characters. Chinese women wear a hairstyle which is combination of Odango and Qipao.

Deciding the Kind of Double Bun:

 Before getting a hairstyle done, you have to decide what kind of look you want for yourself. Do you want a very crisp, smart and chic look and then you will have to go for neatly done buns and if you are going for Saturday night fun with girls, in that case a casual and messy look will do as you want to be carefree and lazy. You do not want pull up your hairs and apply a gel to keep them shiny. You have to decide if your face can carry double bun look or not. If you are going for an interview, a sophisticated and classic look will be the perfect. For evening party, you need more glamorous look, which double bun can give you.

How to make a Double Bun:

 Making a typical double bun is quite easy. Make two sections of your hairs by making parting from the forehead to the nape of the neck. Now gather all the hairs of one side and make a loose ponytail at the nape of the neck. In the same way, make a pony tail at other side also. Now loosely coil each ponytail into a messy bun and wrap a hair band to secure it. It does not matter if some short hairs are poking out. After finishing, rub a glossy product over the top layers to add shine and smoothness to it.

Another method to make a double bun like this is by making plaits of each ponytail. Then coil each plait into a ball like bun. This hairstyle is for long hairs.

Making an Elegant Double Bun:

This is a very sophisticated bun which you can make for a glitzy night party. This bun looks great for medium or long hairs. You can make this bun with any kind of hairs. Do not bother to straighten your hairs if they are curly or wavy but yes, do apply some hair product or iron out the frizzy hairs around the scalp. Use dryer and round brush for getting a smoother tail of the bun. You can use iron too for getting it smoothen.

For making this type of bun, divide your hairs in two sections. First take hairs from above the left ear and move towards right ear in a straight horizontal line. This you can get two sections of hairs; one above the line and other below the horizontal line.

Hairs of lower section should hang down. Now gather upper section hairs and secure them temporarily with a clip using your left hand. Now use right hand to roll your hairs like a ball around a roller and keep rolling until you reach scalp. Use bobby pins to secure hairs on both sides of this roll.

Now it is the turnoff lower hairs. Repeat the procedure told above but roll hairs in downward direction and secure with pins at the bottom. Lower bun should be directly below the upper bun. The specialty of this bun is, you can make this small chin length hair too.
