How to Cure Acne

For people that suffer from acne, there is one question that they all ask, is there an acne cure? Unfortunately, the answer is no. There is no cure for acne, but there are ways to treat and prevent it.

Since there is no acne cure, these treatments may not completely get rid of your acne, but they will greatly reduce it and also prevent it from forming. One of the most common treatment is benzoyl peroxide. This product kills the acne-causing bacteria and also help unclog the pores. It is not very harsh and rarely has side effects. That is always a plus when you are looking for a cure for your acne.

Salicylic acid and sulfur are also forms of treatments used to cure acne. These products exfoliate the skim and help shed dead skin cells. Dead skin cells clog pores, so if they are not present, the pores are less likely to become clogged. The salicylic acid and sulfur also kill the oil that produces acne. This oil is called sebum and when it is rapidly producing, it can clog pores and cause a bacterial build-up. This form of treatment works great, but is best used by people that have little to no skin sensitivity. The product can be harsh and has some side effects. These side effects include rash, itchiness and burning sensation.

Alcohol and acetone can also help cure acne. You will usually find these treatments working together in one product. First, the sebum is reduced by the acetone. Acetone has a drying agent that helps stop the oil from producing. Then, the alcohol kills all the bacteria that could cause acne. The combination of the two is the perfect treatment for acne. However, they can cause a few side effects including dryness, itchiness and burning.
