Foot pain can be uncomfortable, painful and downright debilitating. Sufferers are often left with limited options like entirely resting their body or resorting to pills. However, by gaining accurate knowledge about the ancient Eastern medical method, acupressure which lays focus on some important points on the feet one can easily get immense relief from niggling pain.
According to traditional Chinese, ‘Chi’ or life energy flowing inherently along lines known as meridians provides nourishment to diverse organs of the body, with each one having its own meridian energy line. Feet are believed to have a clustering of end points of many sensitive pressure points lying on the meridians.
There are numerous causes of foot pain and highlighted herewith are common points for common health conditions that could be helpful. Pressure application is done with the tip of your finger, rubber tip of pencil or even any one of the knuckles by massaging the spot in smallish anticlockwise circles for fifteen to thirty seconds and then repeated on the other foot as well.
Firstly, the pressure point application could startle or shock the person due to the depth of pressure applied, however with passage of time one would notice that the pressure begins dissipating and tingling felt thereafter. One might feel sore or tender when pressure is applied, though it should not that hard to be causing pains.
Such movements helps in dispersing any stagnant Chi. One then presses and holds the point for increasing the flow of Chi. Any numbness felt that radiates out from the manipulated point is a good sign of withheld tension been released.
Begin between the crease/web of second and third toe, firmly using a fingertip and going all the way up to the highest point of the dorsal side of the foot. Apply pressure with finger tip right in that spot.

We then follow suit by tracing the fingertip back to the point between the second and third toe. Press right into the depression between the two toes for a minute or so.
Try feeling the point along the upper side of the foot amid the webbing of the big toe and second toe at the depression where the two bones meet. Apply localized pressure in a firm manner on the point for 30-60 seconds which provides relaxation.
We probe the point between the fourth and fifth toe and move slightly upwards till one crosses a thick tendon. This is the location of the meeting point of the duo tarsal bones within the feet. Pressing into the skin at the point aids in assuaging foot pain considerably.
It is located at the base of the foot amid the second and third metatarsal bones. Typically, there is a depression or hollow felt as one probes at the point about 1.5 inches away from the area between the second and third toes.
With fingertip apply moderate pressure in anticlockwise direction or gently vibrate it over the point for about a minute or so. It is a local point to relieve pain and placate the mind.
People can easily locate this point by measuring a thumb width behind the balls in the upper arches of their feet. Firm pressure on the point and holding for a minute aids in ably allaying pain and cramping in foot.
