Cockroaches have begun to pose numerous problems in most households today. Not only do they plague almost all corners of the house but they are also responsible for causing a good amount of damage to your place. Be it food infestation, destruction of wallpapers, tearing off books or spreading germs- cockroaches have the ability to initiate both, house wrecks and human diseases. At this point, it becomes extremely important to find suitable ways in order to eliminate these dangerous pests.

Difficulty Level

The task of getting rid of cockroaches is moderate in its level of difficulty. However you need to exercise extreme caution while doing so.

Instructions

  • Just as you spot that your house is infested with cockroaches, you need to begin taking action. First of all try and figure out where they are coming from. The most common points of entry are holes or cracks, generally in the wall. Fill up these cracks. Though the cockroaches have the ability to move through any small space, a fill up with plaster or cement will be able to stop them effectively.
  • Once this is done, the cockroaches will be trapped within the four walls of your home. Now is the time to eliminate them for which you can try a number of remedies. Use either a bait or a trap. For the former, prepare a mixture using white sugar, boric acid and flour in a powdered form. This would serve as a lucrative bait for the roaches. Nevertheless, if you want to trap them, place this bait inside a jar filled with water. They will be able to get in but won’t be able to move out. However, make sure that you don’t leave the bait randomly around as your dog might eat it!
  • Clean up the house. Vacuum all places which had previously served as their points of gaining entrance. Wipe the dust off your shelves and clean under the carpets. This will prohibit re-infestation. Cockroaches are attracted only to places which have food crumbs spread around. Avoid doing this and keep your house as neat as possible.
  • If you are still troubled by the roaches, it is time to call the professionals. It is indeed possible that the cockroaches are entering from a crack you haven’t yet noticed and thereby theyare not catching up to your baits or traps. With professionals working on the task, they are sure to be done away with as they cannot bear the brunt of chemicals and pesticides.
  • Just as you get rid of the cockroaches, make a resolve to not let them enter your abode again. Keep a consistent check on their presence and chuck them out as soon as you spot them. Your house after all is your place of worship. Do not let it be swarmed with the ruthless roaches!
