Concealer: Hide Under Eye Dark Circles

Concealer is the best cosmetic in your makeup kit. Makeup is applied to enhance your beauty and concealer is the best aid to accomplish that. Concealer helps to hide any blemishes and scars which make your face ugly and give you unpleasing looks. Concealer is the best choice to hide your dark circles while you are trying to treat them. Concealer is applied before applying any makeup. Concealer hides dark marks over the skin and concealer application is hid below other cosmetics.

Concealer, in combination with foundation, prepares a perfect base for makeup. With concealer application, you can achieve a flawless complexion. There are many reasons of getting dark circles like lack of nutrition, lack of sleep, poor blood circulation and stress.

Concealer is denser in composition than foundation and they perfectly do their job of hiding even hardest blemish, scar or pimple. But another fact about concealer is that they are designed for covering small area. They are not intended for full face application. For covering full face and neck, foundation is the makeup product. Foundation is lighter in density and cannot conceal the hard spots like scars or pimples or dark circles due to its transparency.

Concealers are available in the form of stick, pencil, liquid, air brush. Water- proof concealers are also available to help those people who have to spend lot of time with water or sweat. A concealer with dry texture is the best and it blends well with skin. It lasts longer with its cream base getting adhere to skin. In summer months when temperatures raise very fast, liquid concealers melt quickly. Stick concealers are very easy to apply in controlled way and stay there for longer time.

Choosing a concealer

Choosing a right shade of concealer is very important to hide the marks. If you choose very lighter tone or darker tone than desired, concealer application appear like a mask put on face. When you choose wrong shade of concealer, it emphasise the area instead of concealing it.

To choose the concealer, you should take your skin tone as guide. It will help you select a concealer shade which suits your skin tone. When you are trying to hide your under eye circles, select a shade one or one and half shade lighter than shade of your under eye circles. For a natural look and to counteract bluish tone, a golden tone concealer is best suited. If you apply lighter shade of concealer, you will have to blend it very carefully.

How to apply Concealer:

First choose a light shade concealer, but not much lighter. Concealer shade should be lighter than the shade of foundation you are using. If you have bluish grey dark circles, apply a pale yellowish concealer. Brownish under eye circles are covered by light blue or mauv e concealer.

Before applying concealer, cleanse and exfoliate your face. Now using a gentle circular movements, dab concealer over the under eye circle. When you apply foundation stop before concealer application and blend both colours carefully, again using circular motion. After blending both colours, dust it with un - tinted loose powder for a smooth look.

Some people apply concealer with brush as if they are painting a canvas which is not the right procedure. It is applied by gently dabbing with brush in a controlled manner. Rubbing can give redness and swelling on the skin especially if you have sensitive skin. Spend little bit of time patiently to blend it.

Tips for Concealer Application

Avoid using oil containing concealers because after sometime, oil will get collected in fine lines in under eye circles.

While you use concealer, application of foundation becomes necessary to avoid white mask look.

Do not use bleaching creams to eliminate or fade under eye circles. Use only those ointments prescribed by experienced doctor.

While applying concealer, do not rub it over skin as it will lead to swelling of under eye circles.

Before applying concealer over under eye circles, apply some light under eye cream; never apply a face moisturiser under eye cream. It moisturise that under eye area.

While applying concealer, use ring finger to give only slight and gentle pressure as under eye area is very sensitive. Ring finger exerts lesser pressure.
