Fainting can be caused by emotional stress, sudden fear or horror, standing up for long periods, heart disease, low blood sugar, seizures, panic attacks, low blood sugar, severe blood loss and certain medications. Though anyone can faint, mostly elderly people have episodes of fainting. People suffering from diabetes, neurological disorders, anemia and dehydration are also prone to bouts of fainting.
