Various Methods of Eyebrow Arching
Eyebrows help to define the shape of eyes. Eyebrows are not just static feature on the face but eyebrows are the focus of face along with eyes. Eyebrows help to convey feelings and moods of the person. Eyebrow shape can tell the expressions. With the movement of eyebrows, one can tell whether person is happy, sad or angry. In way eyebrows help in reflecting the personality. Eyebrow arching is the method to give perfect arch and shape to the brow. Eyebrow arching can be done with various methods. There is a set technique to determine the arch of the brow. Eyebrows frame the eyes so having perfect brow shape is vital for a neat look.
Determine Eyebrow Arc:
To get the perfect eyebrow arc, you have to first determine the arch shape. You can fine this by using following method. To determine the shape, use a white pencil to mark the shape. Before defining any shape, keep this in mind that shape of your brow should complement your facial feature.
- Place pencil straight, starting from middle of mouth through side of the nose to tear duct. This point on the brow, arch of the brow starts.
- To find point of arc, put the pencil starting from middle of the mouth to outside the iris of eye, touching the nostril, in diagonal line.
- End of the arc can be determined by placing the pencil from middle of mouth to other corner of eye, from side of nostril.
Different Methods of Eyebrow Arching:
There are many eyebrow arching techniques, available and you can choose the one according to your needs, patience and time. There are some simple techniques, you can follow at home yourself but some techniques need the help of beauty professional as those technique need training and skill.
Brush Eyebrows:
For giving the shape to eyebrows, comb the eyebrows, using a small, spiral hairbrush. Comb the eyebrows, away from hairline in upward direction. Now use a color eyebrow pencil to fill in the gaps. It should be done in gentle feather strokes. Another thing to be remembered is to color of pencil should get blended with your natural brow color.
Trim the Brows:
If you have long bushy brows, you can shape them with the help of a small comb and a sharp scissors. Extra length of the brows can be trimmed away. Comb the brow away from hairline and trim excess length which is beyond natural bowline. Now comb the hair in downward direction and trim in the excess length. Now comb brow to bring in shape. By the technique of trimming, you can not remove hair from its root. It can not used to give new shape to brow.
Tweezing:
Get a pair of fine tweezers for shaping the brow.Tweezing is done by pulling individual hair strands at one time. It should be done in direction of growth of hair. If you tweeze eyebrows just after shower, it will be less painful. Eyebrows should be free of any greasiness otherwise tweezers can not grip the hair. Find the shape of arc as discussed above and tweeze away any hair beyond that marking.
Threading and Waxing of Brows:
You can achieve neat and defined eyebrow arc by the methods of threading and waxing. Both of these methods tweeze the hair from brow from its follicle. Technique of threading, make use of a cotton thread and skill to do it. In threading, a whole line of hair can be pulled at a time. It is very safe technique.
Waxing is done by applying waxing strips and pulling them with jerk in opposite direction of growth of hair. Hot wax is used for it. This technique sometimes may not suit sensitive skin of eyes as along with hair it may pull out upper layer of akin and cause rashes.But by this technique, you can give purely new arc shape to eyebrows.

Eyebrow Stencil:
These are predefined shapes available in the market. You can apply them and mark the shape. Other stencils have pre-waxed strips with them, which pull out extra hair out of that shape.
Perfect Eyebrow Arching:
Do not over shape the eyebrows as it may lead to thinning of brow which is not desirable. For natural arc shape, tweeze on the brow bone. Do not give sharp angles; gently curve them for natural appearance. After removing few hairs, analyze for the shape. Tweeze the hair only below the brow, not from above the brow; it will flatten the arch.
