Use of hair dyes helps you to bring a change in your appearance and personality , almost dramatically. Hair dyes are the different pigments used for cover hair strands. You can use artificial hair dyes , widely marketed by cosmetic companies or you can prepare hair dyes yourself by using natural products. Hair dyes can be of two kinds: permanent and semi-permanent, each having its own variations. Choose the shade of hair dye according to your skin tone.
For preparing permanent hair dyes, hydrogen peroxide is mixed with dye to lift colour. What happens is hydrogen peroxide helps to open up the hair cuticle and hair colour penetrates the hair cortex. Intensity of colour depends upon the amount of peroxide used. If you add more peroxide, you will fast results but lighter tones.
Semi-permanent dyes give you variation in your natural hair colour. It can be used to highlight it or make it darker. These dyes do not affect the hair growth and will last up to 20 washes from shampoo.
These hair dyes are prepared from semi-permanent vegetable extracts and have only natural ingredients. You need not get natural colour of your hair stripped to get you hair covered with these dyes. These dyes stay on the hair till 8 shampoo washes. You should take advice of some expert to get right hair dye according to your hair style.
Below are given hair rinses prepared from natural products. They act as hair dyes for different colour shades. For each kind of hair dye, rinse your hair at least 15 times, with re-rinsing with same hair dye liquid. After the last rinse, wring your hair and let it set for 15 minutes. After that, wash with clean water thoroughly.
For preparing blonde hair dye, mix 1 tbsp lemon juice with 1 gallon of warm water.
For giving blonde highlights, take 1 cup lemon juice and 3 cups chamomile tea. Brew the tea and cool it.
Mix these ingredients and damp your hair. Pour it over your hair and leave it for 1 hour. During this time, sit in sunlight. Then wash it with clean water and apply some good conditioner according to your hair needs. To get any noticeable change in colour of your hair, you have to repeat this procedure daily for few weeks.
Brew black tea or black coffee and rinse your damp hair with it according to procedure told above. Repeat this process daily for few weeks to get desired results.
Henna is 100% safe and natural hair dye. This is widely applied all over the world to cover premature greying. Henna in natural form gives dark red hair colour. Apart from hair dye, henna is a good hair conditioner.
For preparing henna dye, take 200 gms henna or according to your hair length, yolk of one egg, 1 tsp rum or brandy and 1 tsp coffee powder.
Mix all the ingredients and make a paste with water. Pour this mixture in an iron vessel and keep it overnight. Then apply it on dry hair in the morning and leave for 2 hours. After that wash it with clean water and apply some hair oil on the hair to prevent them from dryness caused by henna.
This dye will give golden colour to the gray hair. Boil saffron in water for 15-20 minutes. Strain and cool this solution. Pout it over your hair and leave for 1 hour. After that, rinse it with clean water .
Take 500 gm husk of walnut and 500 ml of water. Boil and steep walnut husk for 15 minutes. Cool and strain this to get liquid. Pour this liquid over your hair and leave for 15 minutes and wash with clean water.

for blonde highlights you can also just put lemon juice in dry hair then sit in the sun for half an hour then sit out of the sun for half an hour adn then wash out of your hair. make sure not to get the juice on your scalp and it may fry your hair so deeply condition it when you rinse it after:-)
