Boils, also known as furuncles, are red painful and swollen bumps appearing on the skin. These painful bumps are normally a result of hair follicle inflammation. With time dead skin accumulates and develops pus making the bumps very painful which if left untreated can actually develop into an abscess. A bacterium called Staphylococcus Aureus is responsible for boils. This bacterium lives normally on the surface of the skin.

Anybody can have boils although it is believed that people who have suppressed immune systems, skin problems and those suffering from diabetes are at a higher risk of developing boils. They attack the face, buttocks, armpit, thighs and the neck area in most cases. It is always advisable not to squeeze boils since the infection only spreads to fresh areas of the skin making the case severe. Turmeric

Properties: The antiseptic properties found in turmeric make it effective in treating boils. You can use this home remedy easily to completely get rid of painful boils. Fresh boils should be given a turmeric treatment to get rid of them before they develop further.


Treating boils using turmeric:
Make a paste using turmeric and a little water then apply the paste to the boils. In case the boil is fresh, you can have turmeric roots roasted and then crushed into ashes before making a paste with the ashes. The paste ripens then bursts the boil quickening the healing process. This remedy is very safe and effective in dealing with boils.

Parsley Leaves

Properties: Parsley leaves have healing properties which work very well on boils. The mineral found in the leaves will help in the treatment of boils by drying them up and then eventually healing them.

Treating boils using parsley leaves:
Boil enough water and put the leaves into the boiling water. Let the mixture sit till it becomes soft and juicy then put the mixture onto your boils when the water is bearable to the touch and secure it using a cotton or linen cloth to cover them. Let the mixture stay on the boils for 15 minutes before removing it. This can be done daily until the boils disappear.

Carom Seeds

Treating boils using carom seeds
For carom seeds to work effectively on your boils, heat mustard oil and add a half teaspoon of the seeds together with crushed garlic. Once the seeds turn red, filter the oil and apply it to the boils. This is a very good remedy especially in cases where the boils attack the ears making it hard to use other home remedies.


Bitter Guard

Properties: Bitter guard has bacteria killing properties which help in fighting infections and eventually healing boils. This home remedy is very effective on painful and pus filled as well as bloody boils which can be agonizing and irritating.

Treating boils using bitter guard:
All you have to do is extract juice from it and mix it with lemon juice then drink it in the morning when your stomach is still empty. Taking the juice once per day will effectively heal your boils and continued use of the juice, say once per week, afterwards will ensure that boils never appear again.


Cumin Seeds

Properties: Cumin seeds have healing properties and a soothing effect which will highly benefit you in the treatment of boils. This is a natural and effective way of treating painful boils and getting rid of them.

Treating boils using cumin seeds:
Using a good amount of water grind the seeds into a paste and then apply it to the affected areas. Let the paste sit on the boils for up to 15 minutes before washing it off with cold water. You can repeat this procedure twice a day until your boils fade away thus relieving yourself of the intense pain.


Garlic and Onions

Simply crush the two to make a paste using just a little water. Apply the paste onto the boils and leave it for a few minutes before washing it off. Milk cream naturally heals boils and is especially very good for those boils which appear bloody. To use milk cream as a cure for boils, simply apply it over the infected area every once in a while and see how the boils disappear.

Orange juice is another effective home remedy for boils which cleanses and controls boil growth. You can drink the juice or apply it on the infection for quicker and faster results. Four days of taking the juice are good enough to effectively control the growth of the boils. You can add a little salt to taste.

Evacuate pus from boils using garlic and onion juice. Mixing milk cream with vinegar and turmeric powder is another great remedy for bloody boils.

Crush fenugreek seeds for about 10 minutes and apply the poultice onto the boils to effectively and quickly treat them.

You can also take care of your boils by mixing fresh lemon and orange juice with honey and cod-liver oil then taking the mixture three times every day. Apart from healing boils, you will end up feeling reenergized and ready to face the day every single morning.

Apply fresh lime juice mixed with powdered and roasted pomegranate skin onto the infected area as a treatment for painful boils. Freshly ground neem leaves made into a paste is also a great way of treating and healing boils when applied daily.

Crabgrass poultice is another effective home remedy for boils. Add hot water to the mixture and wilt the crabgrass handful and drain the water thereafter. Mix the poultice with enough salt and bacon drippings and use a clean cloth to secure it. You can let the paste sit for several hours to effectively relieve boils.

Diet for Boils:

The easiest and most effective way to stop boils from growing on your body is through diet. A little change here and there can have very good results and is therefore advisable. Lack of proper nutrition is in most cases the underlying boil cause.

Eat lots of green vegetables which contain carotene to keep your skin healthy and keep boils away. If you can eat the vegetables when they are fresh and raw, the better it will be for the general health of your body as they are full of nutrients in their natural form.

To curb the development of boils, keep away from processed foods and too much carbohydrate. It is enough to eat a well balanced diet every single time you have a meal.

Hydrogenated and saturated fats are not good for your health and should be eliminated from your diet since they worsen boils.
