Anemia refers to a condition that means lack of blood. It is the most common blood disorder that occurs when the quantity of red blood cells decreases in the body. These red blood cells contain hemoglobin - the red colouring matter, a protein and are composed of an organic compound called “heme”. Hemoglobin helps the red blood cells to carry oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body. The formation of hemoglobin depends on adequate dietary supplies of iron and protein.

Types of Anemia
  • Iron deficiency anemia: It is the most common type of anaemia. Iron is required for the formation of hemoglobin. When there is less iron in the body it causes iron deficiency anaemia.
  • Aplastic anemia: When body stops making enough red blood cells and chances of infections increases.
  • Vitamin deficiency anemia: This is also termed as megaloblastic anemia. This is caused due to the deficiency of folic acid or vitamin B12. In this type of anaemia the red blood cells made by the body are not able to carry oxygen properly to lungs and other parts.
  • Inherited blood disease: Sickle cell anaemia is an inherited anaemia that is transferred through genes. In the sickle cell anaemia the cells block the organs from getting proper circulation of blood. The other inherited disease is thalassemia. When the body is missing certain genes or when different genes that are not normal are passed down from parents to the kins, it affects the procedure the body uses to make hemoglobin.
  • Underlying diseases: Certain diseases or conditions can affect the formation of red blood cells. Like in kidney failure one is on dialysis and kidney is not in the condition to produce hormones that are required for iron absorption.
  • Pernicious anemia: When body is not able to absorb vitamin B12 from the foods, the condition is known as pernicious anaemia.
Causes of Anaemia
  • The two main causes of anaemia are the reduced or low formation of red blood cells and heavy loss of blood due to injury, heavy menstruation and bleeding piles.
  • Any defect in the bone marrow or an inadequate intake of iron, vitamins and proteins results in low formation of red blood cells.
  • The lack of hydrochloric acid that is required for digestion of iron and proteins also causes anaemia. Various chronic diseases like tuberculosis, kidney failure, rheumatoid arthritis may cause anaemia.
  • Presence of intestinal parasites that feed on the vitamins and other nutrients also leads to anaemia.

My hemoglobin had always been low even after regularly taking iron supplements; of which some I had to discontinue as I did not tolerate them well. Later I learned about natural therapies (Biogetica) and decided to try them. I am happy to say I have now found something that has given me excellent relief, plusnot reacted adversely to. I prefer them over other hematinics as they are safe and natural, giving me quick and lasting results. Natural anemia therapy kits often consist of Nutraceutical, Homotoxologic, Resonance Homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Biotech and Herbal ingredients working together to eliminate your anemia from roots.

Selenium (sodium selenite) raises haemoglobin levels fast. Google this. Also there is an Australian supplier of this in pure form. The products from Chemists and Health Stores contain very little Selenium. I used this when I was diagnosed with a fatal form of bone marrow cancer. I lifted my HG levels from 7 to high 14's within 5 weeks. The RDA is 200 mcg. I used 5000 mcg daily. Amazing stuff. It is used in the horse racing industry as well for this purpose. Also, it is a powerful anti-cancer treatment. Google this as well. You will be amazed.

I had severe anemia which lead to a diagnosis of Celiac Disease. Because gluten was destroying the lining of my intestines, I was not able to absorb nutriants, esp. iron. Going off gluten solved the anemia. Try taking gluten out of you diet and see what happens.

The good news is that anaemia is not a disease. However, anaemia can be an indication of some serious illness and that's a bad news. Anaemia results mainly from a nutritional deficiency. It is a health condition in which your red blood cells count is so low that not enough oxygen is carried to all parts of your body. It can lead to several problems like chest pain, headache, dull skin, low blood pressure and depression. You can easily treat and prevent some types of anaemia at home with some simple Anaemia Home Remedies . Iron supplements do work to treat this condition. You can also try Herbal Remedies for Anaemia to deal with condition.

If you notice that you are losing more hairs as you get older, have heart problems, less energy, extreme fatigue or many other symptoms, you may have a problem with iron deficiency. This condition is known as anaemia. A medicinal dictionary says that anaemia is either a reduction in the number of red blood cells or a reduction in the amount of iron carried by red blood cells. If you are suffering from this condition, you need to supply essential nutrients to your body by adopting a nutritional diet. You can try Natural Home Remedies for Anaemia for anaemia which are completely safe and effective too. Ayurvedic Remedies for Anaemia is also a good option for treating your anaemia problem. They will boost your immune system and thus improve your overall health.
