Teeth get decolorised by some eatables like coffe, tea , soda. we should avoid them . Still if we have the problem we can use some home remedies or the products like 'minutewhiteusa'.

TOAST SLICES OF BREAD UNTIL CRISPY BLACK, SCAPE INTO A CONTAINER, ADD HONEY TO MAKE LOOSE PASTE AND BRUSH. I HAVE TRIED THIS IN THE PAST AND IT WORKED FINE. 2 TO 3 TIMES PER WEEK.
#19 - kimmie - 09/20/2008 - 05:05
I am been using crushed burnt toast with a little honey mixed in. It seems to get my teeth whiter. Plus using a bit of crushed toast with your regular tooth paste makes for a really clean feeling..
#20 - paul - 09/24/2008 - 18:54
:-D USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE UNDILLOUTED 2x OR MORE A DAY! It's amazing, I've used it twice and my teeth were white! Sooo much cheaper than whitening teatments!
#21 - Mrs. Nick Jonas - 09/30/2008 - 17:27
Thanks..I think I will try the crushed burnt toast and honey.. thanks for the tip! :)
#22 - Ahalya - 10/09/2008 - 09:49
I have been to the Dentist office and they suggeted that you use bakingsoda and poroxcide. They think a young child like me should use it because other things will tare your teeth apart and ruen your enamel.
Thanks and I hope this Helped you guys!:-D
#23 - Brooke - 10/14/2008 - 21:04
No body drink household bleach please!>-(
#24 - NosiDam - 10/18/2008 - 19:01

#27 - angel - 11/24/2008 - 17:06

#28 - ano - 11/26/2008 - 19:09

#29 - Leah - 11/27/2008 - 14:36
Peroxide workss--tryy itt.B-)
#30 - blahhh - 12/01/2008 - 07:38
:-o Hydrogen peroxide, baking soda all sound like meat tenderizers to me!
just crush charcoal to make powder, add a bit on your tooth brush, its healthy, natural and it works for real, thats what kids in africa use if they don;t have tooth paste ,its PFM!:-**
#31 - # 31-Dube-02/12/2008 - 12/02/2008 - 14:40
Use hydrogen peroxide. I use it, it kills germs and bad breath, and polishes the teeth. Also get cayenne pepper and burn it; use the ash on your teeth. Parsley is great, too.
#32 - Shelinda - 12/11/2008 - 13:59
People please DO NOT use hydrogen peroxide or bleach for crying out loud! Bleach is obvious why you should not use it. Although hydrogen peroxide does whiten your teeth it is carcinogenic to your oral tissues. The studies show that using it frequently can lead to cancer of the mouth.

Also anything sugary like honey, strawberries should not be used as well because although they may whiten, (I have not seen this but some on this board it worked for them) if you use this frequently you will develop cavities in the areas that you use it.

Finally, no lemons either as the acid is not good for the enamel. Be sure to ask your dentist or dental hygienist what remedies work if you want to go the natural route...as they always say, ask a professional.
#33 - HygienistInFlorida - 12/20/2008 - 19:36
when you say charcoal do you mean the store bought charcoal for bbq's??? please be more specific. thank you!!!
#34 - needtoknow - 12/21/2008 - 22:20
i thank you all for the tips but i think i'll use salt and baking soda together while if that doesn't work then i'll rinse with diluted hydrogen peroxide 2x a week or less. cause apparently from your experiences its not wise to use hrogen peorxide undiluted with anything else like baking soda is just taboo and out and out wrong. THANKS!!!!
#35 - lydzin barbados - 01/07/2009 - 11:45
i once heard that britney spears uses lemon juice and baking soda a couple times a week to make her teeth whiter, and we have all seen her pearly whites. although it might not be a bad idea to try i cant imagine that it would feel good or be good for your teeth.
#36 - ashley p - 01/07/2009 - 23:15
Ugh, has anyone actually TRIED using baking soda and peroxide....it is the most awful taste. It's indescribable. I've tried it and i literally gagged a bunch. If you can stomach that kudos to you.
#37 - Autumn - 01/07/2009 - 23:42
brush your teeth really good. Then get a white wash cloth, pour some extra virgin olive oil on it and scrub your teeth.
#38 - bill - 01/13/2009 - 03:06
the charcoal works for real....its the one that is used for bbq's
#39 - yve - 01/13/2009 - 06:42
my dentist told me to use ketchup, you just have to take a napkin and spread ketchup on it then just rub it on your teeth every 4 hours for 2 days. this does not affect or hurt your teeth or gums in any way.smile!B
#40 - Dallliiiaaaa - 01/14/2009 - 13:15
i have braces and i can't use any yet >-(

but i am getting them off soon and after reading everything, i think the wash clothe with Extra virgin olive oil would work the best

no sugar=no cavities

no acid= no destruction of enamel

no chemicals= no cancer

plus, olive oil is good (to me ;-) )
#41 - jose - 01/15/2009 - 01:03
My friends always calls me names because i have yellow teeth. I want something that will get rid of it fast. Not instantly but maybe a week maximum.
#42 - chpinky08 - 01/15/2009 - 15:58
Baking Soda is great because it removes all acid. Salt will kill the germs and make your teeth healthy. BUT DO NOT FORGET that brushing your teeth is the number one cause of getting sick. The reason is because the tooth brush makes cuts in your gums and germs enter into your blood. So be sure to use mouth wash (antiseptic) before and after you brush your teeth. Baking soda may also cure pink eye, 1 tsp with 2 cups water and wash the eye three times a day. Make stroger if you like.
#43 - Shane711 - 01/26/2009 - 12:18
ketchup=sugar? i think charcoal and baking soda ar your best bets.
#44 - tapac - 01/29/2009 - 03:39
The baking soda & peroxide mix will have your gums tender & sore. So much that you can't bear to use it. Not worth it
#45 - diablo0079 - 02/07/2009 - 09:03
Please do not read all this stuff and keep trying.. specially the ones like soda , peroxide .. use natural things fruits or vegetables to cure anyproblemm... no chemicals try to avoid them completely...
#46 - Vanita Albina Fernandes - 02/09/2009 - 02:15
well...i dont think any of these work.. however i will try the extra virgin olive oil... seems to be interesting! What i think is best is the 5 minute speepd whiting gel for any grocery store, like walgreens or some place like that... hope it works! it did for me!
#47 - sugasuga - 02/13/2009 - 14:26
I am very pleased with my results that i got from my own remedy. I know that the white color based chemicals in hydrogen peroxide
react and turn a brighter, whiter color when under a black light (purple looking color).

Brush teeth with normal tooth paste but poor a little bit of peroxide on to your tooth brush.
Wash hands. Take your finger and smeer peroxide on it. Rub on teeth fronts only. Take the black light and hold it up to youre teeth for 5 minute periods. Repat 3 times.

Make sure you don't swllow any peroxide, can lead to bad coughs. Read Label on peroxide container for precautions.

You will Definetely See Results within The first Time you try this.
#48 - Alexandra - 02/17/2009 - 20:11
If baking soda will make your gums tender then why is it in some tooth paste? The crest I bought has it in the tooth paste.....hummm....IDK I but I did use a q-tib to rub some peroxide and baking soda...I only did it once and could tell a small difference. good luck with the pearly whites everyone! :-D
#49 - KRISSIE - 02/20/2009 - 19:48
I reccomend just brushing ur teeth..... also stay away from red wine and smoking too much.
excessive wine=no livers
smoking=bad breath teeth stains and CANCER :-D
#50 - Hannah - 02/22/2009 - 11:24
the spelling and sentence structure is atrocious in this thread. doesn't your browser have an automatic spell check function? goodness...
#51 - mr education - 02/24/2009 - 17:50
how long do you leave the olive oil on for do u just polish your teeth with it?? and then do you rinse your mouth
#52 - shay - 03/01/2009 - 17:00
Use Crest weekly clean toothpaste every weekend night and do not eat anything after that.
#53 - Shiny - 03/02/2009 - 10:57
Listerine Whitening for pre-brushing rinse works well. My daughter had her teeth whitened by the dentist, and she maintains it with that. She had that whitening done 3 years ago. (Colgate Trays).
However, my son broke off a portion of his two front teeth so dental whitening, he could not do. I bought this Listerine Whitening for him. He uses it 1 to 2x a week (maintainence). But, if you want really great results do 2-4x a day until you get your desired results (then 1-2x a week to maintain).
STEPS:
1. Brush your teeth, normally.
2. Mouthwash normally (with Listerene Whitening).
3.get a very small dish and pour a little in the dish. Place your toothbrush in the Listerine and brushing on your teeth directly.
4. You will feel and SEE an immediate difference -:)
5. NOTE: this will not work with regular listerene. It MUST be the Listerene Whitening!
6. Hope it works for you, because we use it consistently.
7. He had braces for a very long time and he gets comments that he teeth are so pretty and clean they look fake. (he hates that comment. LOL)
#54 - Mom~ - 03/07/2009 - 08:29
Whatever you do, don't use those new aquafresh whitening trays. Veryyy limited results for me.
#55 - Abby - 03/07/2009 - 15:32
To whiten teeth use activated charcoal not charcoal briquettes. You can purchase it in Whole Foods, Wild Oats. Just about any Drugstore should carry it.
#56 - Peggie - 03/07/2009 - 19:58
Put a little baking soda in the palm of your hand. Add a little toothpaste. Using your tooth brush, mix well. Brush your teeth as usual, but don't rinse for ten minutes or so. Your mouth will tingle. Rinse well. Then put a little olive oil in the palm of your hand. With a q-tip, apply to your teeth and gums. This will keep the next cup of coffee from restaining your teeth. Don't forget to disinfect your tooth brush with a squirt of vinegar from a spray bottle.
#57 - Hannah - 03/07/2009 - 20:17
ok, someone please answer this: how will i know its working? people r saying dont use lemon because it wears away enamel, and people say dont use baking soda because it gives u ulsers... so what do i use and when will i start noticing a change?:-o
#58 - Ashlea - 03/09/2009 - 20:44
Of course brushing your teeth is a GREAT way to prevent spots and decay, but what if you've already got them ? well, drinking water and eating crunchy fruits ( which wears away dirt ) is a slow process but really works, in a natural and more healthy way ! But using a toothpaste with peroxcide and plenty of it, is realllllyyy efficient ! Lightly brush in a circular motion for two minutes and enjoy your beautiful smile.
*A kind smile looks amazing on everyone and brightens your entire face and emphasizes your eyes, so SMILE !
Cause Jesus
#59 - Samantha - 03/12/2009 - 16:07
why not use clorox?
#60 - amy - 03/16/2009 - 01:23
After reading all of this i will have to say that using a white washcloth and virgin olive oil will have to be what I use. Lemon on the teeth does sound bad for them and also peroxide...I want my teeth to be white and also healthy.
#61 - Molly Hensley - 03/23/2009 - 12:43
I'm going to do what #57 suggested. Sounds like my best bet and I hope it works! Good luck everybody...
#62 - Angie - 03/28/2009 - 15:02
Personally . . . . I believe that brushing REGULARY will do the BEST for your teeth
has anyone tried ketchup?
every 4 hours for two days :P
#63 - Jeffrey - 04/07/2009 - 16:06
Well, yes, baking soda and peroxide are both ingredients in toothpaste...but it's a VERY small amount of each one. However, using it like this calls for unbearable pain.
#64 - Private - 04/08/2009 - 14:34
try pearl drops hollywood smile you freaks!!! stop using stupid
'home remedies' for whitening teeth! just get some proper tooth whitening stuff!!!!
#65 - kyle Bednall - 04/13/2009 - 07:26
Leave it to the Experts... If everyone keeps makin things at home... those ppl that rely on us to buy their whitening gels etc will have no business!!! :-(... think about the economy pplzzzz :)

But very good tip :-D
#66 - Shaby - 04/20/2009 - 23:22
Ok....

Clorox? are you Effin kidding me? I'm not putting that sh*t in my mouth...

Charcoal?...that store bought stuff is infused with all kinds of harmful chemicals and LIGHTER FLUID..it's ok to cook with...but you're not supposed to eat it!..not to mention that charcoal is a rock...the reason it's whitening your teeth is cause you're basically just eroding the outer layers...

ketchup = sugar+preservatives+sugar+acids+sugar...no brainer here...DON'T USE

and didn't any of you do that experiment in school with baking soda and peroxide? I'm pretty sure that it ended with the bag exploding! this is why it's bad for your gums...chemical reaction that produces gasses...

how bout we all just try BRUSHING!...and FLOSSING...and using a good toothpaste (with a whitener) and a good mouth rinse...(things that are all natural are obviously better...while the alcohol in listerine keeps your mouth free of germs)...

BRUSH BRUSH BRUSH! If you must, try a whitener from the store...or just let the dentist do it! It's worth the mondo bucks to have brilliant movie star teeth if you want them that bad...

...jesus
#67 - Librerin - 04/27/2009 - 01:20
hey #65 if you dont need in of this then why in the effin are you doing in this page!!! Get a effin life!!! :-)
#68 - Shelby - 04/30/2009 - 12:59
Amy did you say why not use clorox? It's BLEACH. Drink it then genious then go to the hospital and get your stomach pumped. It says on a bottle of bleach Do Not Ingest, Do Not Drink. Rubbing the inside of an orange peel is a good quick trick but mixing a small amount of toothpaste and baking soda or peroxide for 5 minutes works well just rinse after using as it tastes really bad. and don't swallow it
#69 - V - 05/02/2009 - 23:09
I am ok with a little yellowing as I grow older.
Listerine, Arm & Hammer, Crest.... all still test on animals. Would you stick tubes and electrodes to your dog or cat to give you white teeth? If no, live with your aging teeth. If yes, go hang with Michael Vick. Cruelty is cruelty in my book.
#70 - living yellowish - 05/05/2009 - 09:56
NO HOUSEHOLD BLEACH. shouldnt joke about that, someone will use it!!!!
#71 - c - 05/11/2009 - 15:10
soda and aquafresh ectreme cleen whitening works well, plus soda cant do any harm, it sonly sturns into salt and water when mixed with acid, really, its pintless to mix lemon and soda together
#72 - dot - 05/12/2009 - 11:03
use a raw potato, a teaspoon of sea salt, a teaspoon of baking powder and 2 tablespoons of cod liver oil. rub the potato in the mixture of oil, baking powder and salt and then on your teeth. You will have a beautiful smile within the week!
#73 - rukidding - 05/18/2009 - 14:27
Hi there, you see, the problem is that I read a remedy, and I'm like- I'll use that one. Then that gets contradicted, also I have to find another one. Then that gets contradicted, and you get the point... So can you please give me the right one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the most sensible one is the olive oil one.
Thnx- a random person
#74 - a random person - 05/24/2009 - 01:36
I have used Baking soda for years, My teeth are so white it works. But you must also use toothpaste daily, I keep an extra box in the bathroom. pour baking soda in the palm of your hand ,wet tooth brush and get it pasty dip toothbrush andbrush, follow with tooth paste it works.
#75 - Ms Dee - 05/24/2009 - 05:33
I read a bunch of these and made paste of olive oil, baking soda, a dash of salt and few drops of lemon juice. I dip my brush in, scrub for a few minutes then rinse like mad and brush my teeth with the whitening toothpaste that hasn't been working. My teeth are quite white already from it, but I wouldn't leave this mixture on. It tastes pretty bad for one, and lemon juice isn't great for enamel as everyone else has said. Best part? Its way cheaper then whitening kits
#76 - MissX - 05/24/2009 - 14:01
You have to try #73!!! I tried it over the long weekend. When I came into work on Tuesday I had soooooooo many compliments. I mixed the ingredients with a wintergreen organic toothpaste.
#77 - gottaluvit - 05/28/2009 - 13:07
OMG I'm a science student and there is some really bad science going about on this page! On the comments certainly! No way is charcoal a rock, haha.
Also to kelCEE, I sure wouldn't wanna meet you - hateful, discriminatory AND unable to use apostrophes at the correct time? I don't know how you can discriminate against dyslexic people when you don't have a problem but still can't speak the language! xx
#78 - Nessa - 06/06/2009 - 06:25
WOW! So much choices to choose from. But the lemon, strawberry, peroxide, and etc. are basically not good. So is good to be on the safe side and thanks to all who warned me about them. I think I will try The olive oil.;-);-)
#79 - Vasira - 06/10/2009 - 09:02
does the extra virgin olive oil really works? Sounded the safest but cant see any improvememt after two days of using it. i use it twice daily.
#80 - blackp3n15 - 06/12/2009 - 19:26
well just one thing...! i have a teeth (mid one on the lower jaw) its doing fine - but half broken. so the inner layers Are exposed to anything i appy on.. can anyone suggest me a good remedie which would not harm tht teeth... or if i can apply anything mentioned above which wud nt harm or make my teeth more sensitive.. i think olive oil wud do.. but i need a some assurance :)
#81 - pavan shaharm - 06/15/2009 - 07:08
u guys are all hilarious :-D esp. the ones complaining about other people grammar.

Anyways, i was gonna try the peroxide and lemon juice test but after reading all the scary stuff i think THE BEST suggest is #54. However, the olive oil n baking soda sounds interesting too from #57.

Bushing regularly using a whitening toothpaste and flossing is the MOST natural and SAFEST way to have almost...almost pearly whites.
#82 - marissa - 06/19/2009 - 02:39
I drink black coffee and red wine. I have always had problems keeping my teeth white despite regular brushing-- tried sprinkling baking soda on top of my toothpaste on the toothbrush everytime, and using peroxide/ water mouthwash after brushing. My teeth became whiter quickly, and have remained that way.
#83 - Meg - 06/22/2009 - 18:07
