Vaginitis is defined as an inflammation of the vagina featured by discharge, foul smell, irritation, and/or itching in the organ.
Vaginitis can be asymptomatic, but generally leads to significant vaginal itching and irritation as said before, so that the patient either needs self-medication or seeks professional help. If it is raised by an infectious organism like chlamydia, the infection progress further and seats into the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries and could lead to major complication like infertility. An infection caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) can gradually increase the risk of cervical carcinoma.

i recently got a case of cystitis but i managed to flush it out. now i'm red down there with constant burning feeling and really really heavy whitish thick discharge. before the discharge arrived i thought i was just sore (my bf is quite big) now i think i passed the urinary tract infection on to my [@].... is that possible??? no bad smell, no itching so its not thrush. i'm confused. help. thanks.
Don't wait...if STD it could affect your future choices, even having kids if it travels in your body. Tell them to culture it and if they refuse find a doc who will.
kiesha, whitish clearish is normal, but if youre seeing more discharge than normal, there is a chance you have a yeast or bacterial infection. Try over the counter treatments first, if no luck, seek a doctors opinion.
Ok, my 2 cents. Noxema cream. Only to relieve external itching and burning. it cools pretty quickly.
Hope i could help someone out. :)
I had a friend with your proble, a Dr finaly diagnosed that her husband and her own chemistry just was not compatible. It was just live with it or leave him.
im in a monogomous relationship.we have a lot of s@x.but we are both VERY clean people.lately ive noticed that i have an odd smell.this is super disconcerting bc my man like to spend A LOT of time down there. i always clean myself before and after.the only change in my discharge is that is is a lil bit whiter. but i dont itch or burn or need to pee a lot. just an odor. it doesnt really smell fishy either.ive had yeast infection or two before and it was not like this..any ideas?
i noticed lately for the past few months i hav an unusual discharge its kinda cream colored and it smells funny. i hav one steady partner we hav s@x about once a week and we dont use condoms
please help me
****bothered and worried****
Some suggestions:
1. Best advice is to abstein from s@x. If you cannot resist always ask your partner to use a condom. After s@x make sure that you pee and wash with water and mild liquid or cleansing soap. Always make sure that you gently pat dry your [@].
2. Avoid having multiple partners. Make sure that your partner is also monogamous because you can also get it from them unknowingly.
3. Don't have s@x with anyone while you still have the symptoms. You maybe spreading whatever you have around. This may also worsen your condition.
4. Dump the guy if you know he's unfaithful. At the end of the day it is your battle and not his. Your health is more important than being with someone who doesn't care about you.
5. Wear cotton panties and avoid tight clothes.
6. If possible, avoid wearing panties for bedtime.
7. Eat plain yogurt.
8. Eat a lot of fruits especially bananas and vegetables.
9. Whatever the result will be is going to be a life changing experience for you. It will make you see life in a whole new perspective. This will also mean that a lifestyle change will be necessary.
10. Stop smoking.
11. If the doctor prescribed some oral medications refrain from drinking alcohol as medication will not be effective.
12. Just because you felt some relief, that doesn't mean you are already cured. Be sure to follow your doctor's prescriptions and medications. A follow up check is always necessary to be sure that you are healthy again.
The doctor will definitely ask for another physical/ pelvic examination to be sure.
13. Avoid stress if possible.
If you are having yeast infections, genital herpes, vaginosis. You may have repeated breakouts/ symptoms depending on the severity. Do not be afraid at least now you know what you have and you can get yourself treated easily.
It is a hassle whether it is yeast, vaginosis, or STD. Always keep in mind that anybody is a candidate regardless of race, religion, wealth, etc.
For some STD's there are cure but if you have genital or oral herpes, there are only treatments for this. Once you get herpes it will stay in your body for the rest of your life. But also keep in mind that you are not alone. There are millions out there who are experiencing what you have right now. Always stay hopeful and positive!
For awhile, avoid anything with sugar like sweets, fruit, any products with baker's yeast, and eat lots of whole grains (if they don't make you itchy) and vegetables. The green ones really, really help, and celery helps too. Eat fresh garlic and plain yogurt that has acidophilus in it.
You can also try over the counter yeast fighting products like Yeast Cleanse.
If all this doesn't work, get tested for food allergies.
Btw im thirteen..if it makes any difference.

***Help ANYONE????**
I found that soaking it in warm water with salt is good for relief.
It gets worse at night and I found that getting up, sitting up straight and becoming distracted by something else like a laptop makes the itch eventually go away.
The problem now is how to get to sleep??? I haven't had a good nights rest for months -_-
