Veins are thin-walled vessels that carry impure blood back to the heart. Veins act as one-way valve that prevents the impure blood from flowing backwards. When these valves become weak, the blood flows back to the veins and results in congestion due to blood clots. With the congestion the veins become enlarged and this condition is known as varicose veins. The word varicose is derived from the Latin word varix, which means twisted. Varicose veins can occur in any part of the body but the most affected part is legs. The veins of the legs are divided into two systems –
The deep veins
that run deep to the leathery layer of fascia surrounding the muscles.
The superficial veins
that run in the layer of fat just beneath the skin.
Between these two veins, the superficial veins are the ones that become varicose. The varicose veins are dark purple or blue in colour.

I am treating them with a horse chestnut complex (with Ginko and some bark extract) twice a day and i have also increased my fibre and vegetable consumption. I am attempting to grow a Gotu Cola plant (I live in sub-tropics) which is supposed to strenthen cell walls. My guess is that it will take a while to treat naturally but I am not in a rush.

Please do not use horse chestnut. It has an active consituent called aescin which blocks the release of the enzyme that contibutes in the damage of capillary walls. It may cause vomiting, nausea, headache, convulsion, resen respiratory and circulatory failure and it may even result in death. Instead use extract of pine bark and grape seeds. It may cause a little nausea and upset of the stomach. It contains antioxidants which strengthens the connective tissue of blood vessels. Witch hazel and apple cider vinegar works as well. Apply either one with a cotton ball three times a day.
Good Luck.

From my experience it is the most effective way to keep them away:)
also I take 1 garlic pill daily to help my veins stay flexible. I do also few sit ups daily to keep up good blood circulation.
Good luck for everyone trying to avoid these non pleasant veins to appear
at night to relieve the pain. they never surfaced until I was 16. I was always under the impression that they surface veins that were affected, oops was I ever wrong, a few years back I began experiencing trouble with strength in my legs at first gradually and then to almost nothing, I have been to doctor after doctor and it wasn't until recently that I discovered the ugly truth {forgive the bad pun}about the varicose veins. They do run deep and silently. They have tested me for all types of diseases but I am positive it is in the veins, will be starting a strict regiment. After having to close my business down due to poor health I have been doing nothing but resting and have gotten a lot of my mobility back, and hopefully after at least 6 months of following some of the advice and remedies I'll be back and about in no time.B-) is there a forum out there for those with this? If not there should be. Joe
rutin pills is used to make the capillary walls stronger, take vitamin C with Rutin to get better results..also Mustard oil helps good circulation of blood, massage everyday, apple vinegar is also good, i've been using this combination, and it's working for me!
Good luck
I am also one of those who get this helpful information as my wife having this problem after pregnancy and i will be more happy if you send me more natural way to treat this
- ice or heat for pain related to varicose veins
- compression therapy: graduated compression hose or socks worn all day, every day can help push the venous blood back up your legs and stop it backing up.
- exercise also improves the blood circulation
If they bother you a lot, go to the doctor and get them injected (sclerotherapy). You should get it checked out in any case as it may be a sign of more severe vascular disease.
simplemay_emerald10210@yahoo.com..thanks so much..

Sincerely,
Iris:-D

Now I'm 40 and this is the first time I'm feeling comfortable to discuss this.Just like everybody else I like to wear shorts and dresses but feel bad and to be honest I hate summer:oops: I tried injection at the early stages and It worked and I was comfortable for a few years. as the doctor told me then the veins came back and now they are even worse I used to wear copri pants but this summer they are not going to work either. my legs are so ugly. I will try some of the remedies that I'm feeling comfortable with and I will let the readers know if I get any good results. Thanks for all your coments too. Good luck to everyone:-)
apple vinegar cider didnt work for me after 4 months of appkying it and drinking it for spider veins
hope this works for u all:
Here is the proven cure for varicose veins:
1. Find some quality apple cider vinegar. This can usually be found at your local grocery store, and it can also be found online if you so desire.
2. Make sure that the apple cider vinegar that you buy is undiluted. This will make it an extra effective treatment option for varicose veins.
3. Take the undiluted apple cider vinegar, and apply it to the varicose veins every night.
4. Also be sure to apply your varicose vein treatment in the morning, in the same way that you applied your treatment at night.
5. Every day, mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water.
6. Drink this mixture of apple cider vinegar and water twice a day.
7. Wait about one month, and you will see your varicose veins disappear!
