i just found out i am 1 month pregnant. I have always been a very heavy smoker and I have now cut back from about 20-25 smokes day to about 7 or 8. I am finding it extremely hard to cut down to 0. I am worried I will have a misscarriage because of my smoking. Can anyone share any light on my concerns? Or tips how a pregnant woman like myself can quit such an addictive habbit?

I\'ve had 2 miscarriages. Talk to your doctor. When I was quitting I ate mints. Quit....smoking isn\'t worth harming a baby.

Kim,
I commend you for realizing that the smoking is harmful to your pregnancy. I hope by now you have been able to quit totally. Please remember that after you give birth you will also need to be smoke free for your sake and your infants' sake. Second hand smoke is bad, but children also learn by example that you as a parent will show.
Good luck to the remainder of your pregnancy and in raising a healthy resilient child.
