http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hair_loss Generally, with age, hair fall. As a person ages, scalp loses its grip on hair, which results in hair loss. Generally, male-pattern baldness and female-pattern baldness are both result of age-related hair loss.
Too much of pollution can also result in hair fall. There are places in which amount of pollution is too much in the environment, especially in industrial belts. Also, when hair follicles get exposed to pollution constantly, their quality deteriorates and they fall.
It is one of the most common causes of hair loss, at least in men. Mostly, men who turn bald and experience excessive hair loss in their 40s have a history of baldness in their family. There is nothing much that can be done for this type of hair loss, though.
Stress is also one of causes of hair loss. It is said that more a person is stress, more are his/her chances of losing hair. It also includes lack of sleep, insomnia, restlessness, and many other factors. Stress can clearly show up on your hair health.
Use of harmful chemicals in form of dyes, shampoos, colors, etc. can result in hair fall. Harsh chemicals are harmful for hair in any case. Not only these chemicals damage present hair, but also inhibit further growth of hair. Therefore, it is suggested to avoid use of harsh, harmful chemicals, dyes, colors on hair.
A person can also experience hair loss due to hormonal imbalance. Generally, during pregnancy, women go through hormonal chances, which triggers hair loss for a particular period. This kind of hair loss generally subsides after delivery. In other cases, where hormonal imbalance is more severe, a person can end up being bald.
People undergoing medical treatment can experience hair loss. However, the loss can be reversible, it takes a toll on whole head once. People on chemotherapy can end of losing all hair. Similar is with birth control pills and many high-strength antibiotics.
Some other causes of hair loss can be trauma, tumors, syphilis, connective tissue diseases, infections of the scalp, improper hair care, over-brushing, etc. An immune problem known as alopecia areata can also cause loss of hair from eyelashes, eyebrows, beard, and other parts of the body.
Vigorous rubbing of scalp with fingers after washing hair with cold water is one of the most effective home remedies for hair loss. Ideally, scalp should be rubbed vigorously until it starts to tingle with the heat. The exercise will activate the sebaceous glands and improve circulation of blood across the scalp.
Regular head massage with amla oil can be very beneficial in preventing further hair loss. Amla has properties that promote hair growth by activating the underlying tissues in scalp. Moreover, it acts as a valuable hair tonic. You can either use amla oil available in the market or prepare your own in home by boiling dry pieces of amla in coconut oil. Regular gentle massage promotes hair growth and prevents hair loss.
It is very useful in preventing hair loss. According to experts, a mixture of lettuce and spinach juice can help with hair growth if taken to the extent to half a liter a day.
Mustard oil when boiled with henna leaves gains properties that are highly beneficial for hair growth. Boil about 250 ml of mustard oil and add about 60 grams of henna leaves into it gradually. Filter the oil from leaves and store it. Use this preparation for gentle massage on a regular basis. Regular and long-term usage shows amazing results.
Regular application of coconut milk into hair roots can help a great deal in preventing hair loss. Coconut milk is rich in vital nutrients and vitamins and promotes hair growth. Coconut milk can be prepared by grinding coconut shavings and squeezing them well.
Onion has also been found beneficial in treating patchy baldness. Rubbing the affected part with onion twice a day can promote hair growth. Affected area can be treated with honey after rubbing with onion.
Daily application of refined coconut oil mixed with lime water and lime juice on the hair can prevent hair loss. It can also promote hair growth.
Apply juice of green coriander leaves on the scalp to get benefits. Coriander is rich in vitamin A and other nutrients, and promotes hair growth.
Wash hair with a paste of cooked black gram and fenugreek on a regular basis. This can help elongate hair and promote hair growth.
Regular gentle massage with castor oil promotes hair growth and gives it shine and strength.
It is the first choice of herbalists to treat hair loss. Actually, it blocks the formation of dihydrotestosterone, a hormone thought to kill hair follicles, leading to androgenic alopecia. Consume about 160 mgs of saw palmetto on a regular basis twice a day.
Aloe gel can be applied on scalp before going to bed. Also, one can consume a couple teaspoonfuls of aloe juice on a regular basis. It promotes hair growth and prevents hair loss.
Apply Arnica to the scalp twice a day in the form of cream, ointment, or hair rinse made from arnica tincture diluted with warm water. It increases blood circulation across scalp, thereby promoting hair growth.
Regular and long-term application of jojoba oil across scalp gently helps hair growth.
Emu oil or kalaya oil is recommended as a moisturizer and hair-root stimulant to promote hair growth.
Rosemary helps to keep hair healthy and lush. Just add one part of rosemary oil to two parts of almond oil and massage into the scalp gently for around 15 minutes a day on a regular basis.
Hair health depends a lot on person's diet. In most of the cases, hair loss is triggered by improper diet. Generally, people under-nourish themselves when it comes to eating. They do not care about proper balance of nutrients in their diet. People with a tendency to lose hair should take a well-balanced and complete diet. According to experts, a diet containing good quantities of seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits can provide adequate amounts of all the vital nutrients required for good hair growth. Also, foods like milk, vegetable oils, honey, wheat germ, yeast, liver, etc. also prove to be really good for hair growth.

As for dry/lackluster hair remedies, try henna powder with olive/mustard seed oil, egg white and some yoghurt. Mix it together till its neither runny nor too stiff, apply it to hair, let it dry and wash out.
any good ideas on how to repair?

Hi I am 19 years old and I have the hair of a 50 year old. I used to have wonderfully thick shiny hair but in the past 8 months or so they have completely fallen out and I have less than half of what I used to have. Now my hair is completely dried out and alot of them at the top of my head are becoming coarse and frizzy (for example when i run my fingers down the length of a hair it feels bumpy and coarse). They are also breaking off and sticking up everywhere and I have no idea what to do !!!!!!!!!

add a little bit of honey in your conditioner after you wash.it will make it soft and shiny and smell reallly good. but make sure you rinse really well tho otherwise youll have sticky hair =]
but unfortunately i can't because you are not aware of how to speak the english language properly.
might want to work on that.
MK, im not sure exactly what is going on with you're hair, but i really reccomend that you go scheduel a consultation with a haircare specialist, and also book a deep conditioning treatment. Are you pregnant? sometimes it can do funny things like that to your hair. im sorry i couldn't help more.

Heena is a very good natural conditioner for dry and damaged hair. Make paste of 1-2 cups Heena powder,2tea spoons gooseberry powder in water. Kept the paste for 3-4 hours or overnight for best results. Appy this paste on your hair. Rinse well after 2 hours with a shampoo followed by conditioner. Use it once or twice in a month.
It will give u amazing results just after 1 month.
Try it and see the results. This remedy is equally beneficial for the dry as well as for the oily hair.
Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. Make sure to rinse out the conditioner thoroughly.
Add few leaves Hibiscus (China rose) to a glass of water. Heat it. The juice of a lime should be squeezed in the sieved mixture and it should be applied to the hair before shampooing
Please tell me which shampoo will suit for oily to normal hair as my scalp is very oily and lower part is noraml. I tried all kinds of shampoo but still its very oily after a day of shampooing my hair please help me out >-(
If your hair is oily, first try using a clarifying shampoo, and if that doesn't work, a lot of shampoos tend to have WAX in them and the more you use them, the heavier your hair will get, as well as oily. Try washing your hair one a week in dawn dish soap, which will get the oil out of your hair and if you use a waxy shampoo, like pantene pro-v or many others, it will help get rid of the wax build up in your hair.
hair loss can result from lack of sleep or stress, so try taking vitamins or getting an extra hour or two of sleep, if possible. Hair loss can also be caused by aging or run in your genes, where you notice it falling out a lot in certain places, and I've never heard of a remedy to help with that, so I would suggest to sleep well, as well as maintain a good diet, and exercising, which will keep your body in fit condition, where if you were losing your hair to a certain thing, it most likely would have stopped by then, unless it's genetic or an auto-immune disorder. If you absolutely can't find anything to help out, try going to the doctor and asking about hair replacement treatments like plugs or growth treatments like rogaine. Rogaine does work very well in most cases, but if you ever stop using it after you've started, your hair will most likely start to fall out again like before.
I hope you can find something that helps with any of these problems!
My brother has got a patch on his head where the hair is not growing due to which he is very stressed......please dear freind if there is any home remedy or anything that could help i would be very glad

I was searching on net for hom remedies for hair careand happened to see this site and found it really helpfull. I hope you willl help me too.
I used to have really long thick black hair but from past few years i'm facing this problem of hair fall, weak dull hair, split ends and dandruff.
i care a lot i wash my hair twice or thrice a week. i oil my hair regularly but the result is same. Due to religious factor I HAVE NEVER CUT MY HAIR . therefore please suggest me some remedy for my hair problem without cutting my hair..
PLEASE DO REPLY
I used to message an oil to my hair twice a week on the previous night of the day of washing my hair. When I wash my hair, it becomes very silky. But from the next day its starts becoming rough, dull, thin and splity. When I run my fingers in to my scalp, I always find dust in my nails. So which is the type of my hair?
I am suffering from hair fall and hair loss. I have lost many of my hairs.
So what should I do to make my hair thik, prevent hair fall and regrowth of my hair?
Please help me
I have very thin hairs, But whenever I apply oil and after bath my hair start falling. I am feeling very shy to go outside. I want thick hairs. Do you have any solution for thick hairs. Please help me.
Suggest me some good shampoo for oily hair I have to them after two days.
1.Drink Gren tea every morning it contains anti-oxidents that help stimulate the hair foliculs.
2. DO NOT BRUSH HAIR WHEN WET! If you must use a wide comb.
3. Eat things with lots of natural vitamins, avacados are the best. nuts, fish, things with protien. The best way to get good hair is from the inside out.
4. Trim hair about 1 every 1-2 months.
5. The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them off. Sit in the sun and comb through your hair and cut the split ends off.
6.I dont use condition, it made my hair weak and so it would not grow. instead I use a spray in conditioner after I'm out od the showe.
7. Get a really good shampoo like Panthine Beautiful leangths.
I have noticed a differnece in my hair, its thicker and I have less split ends. I also use a smothing serum that works pretty well. Oh one more thing, dont wash your hair everyday. Go a weekend with our washing it to let the natural oil do there work. Then use a natural boar brush to brush them out to your ends.
Remember the hair at the end is old, could be up to 10 years old! So take care of it and dont fry it with blowdrying, straightening, curling.
Hope this helps! Let me know if it does!
Dont wash your whole head with shampoo, only your scalp needs it, thats why your hair feels dry after shampooing.
And wash your hair in luke warm-cold water.
Hot water is bad for hair and makes it frizz and break.
My Hair is really really dry and braking off all the time its only short anyway but will have to have it even shorter f i dont fix it :( i kno i shouldn't straighten it but i hate it down its soo frizzy cann anyone help please :) xx
My hair is starting to thin from me wearing weaves so much that have been applied with hair glue. How can I make my hair stop thinning out so much? I'm also trying to grow my hair back but it just gets to one length and stops growing.. If anyone has a cure for either one of my problems, I would love to hear it.
Thanks
an egg yolk,
almond oil,
sesame oil,
olive oil,
black sesame oil,
walnut oil
and the most important is garlic oil.
all of these things is mixed (the oils must be warm), then apply your hair skin and wait a couple hours. if you apply this cure once a week, you see the different on your hair..
any solution for my hair plz tell me
the problem came after colouring hair from barbour i think strong chemicals destroyed my hair, not growing well, breaking, falling more over scalp skin is visible. before my hair was so nice everyone was praising them. i m very nervous and depressed. help me plz
1. regular oiling NOT over doing it i think that makes the hair too soft and more prone to breaking when we brush it hard.
2. SHAMPOOS have actually destroyed my hair. i used to shampoo it everyday a friend once told me to either not shampoo my hair at all just rinse it with water and use shampoo once a week or use simple soap bars. it sounds insane but the truth is in pakistan the women who i have seen with the thickest hair are those from villages and they ALL use soaps. Yes it makes your hair extremely dry but then again use oil. Using soap really made my hair grow faster and it felt stronger too. I liked one shampoo a lot Marc Anthony Thick hair but that too worked for the first 2 months maybe and after that my hair went back to normal.
3. All these hair sprays and gels we use to make our hair look better only helps ruining it. I think if you really want your hair back you should only stick to natural products and NOTHING loaded with chemicals for e.g shampoo and conditioners.yes i know a lot of use cant survive without conditioners but then use oils mayonnaise hennda powder mixed with egg and all these other mixtures you ll find you wont need conditioners trust me they work better.
4. Wash your hair once every 3 days. if it gets REALLY limp and dry by the second day then get used to just rinsing it. i have been through this. i HAD TO shampoo my hair everyday so now i just try rinsing it everyday and shampooing it every 3 4 days that too with my own shampoo. feels dirty as first but you will HAVE to get used to it otherwise the problem will only get worse.
5. GROWING HAIR LONG IS EASY. I have not been able to grow more hair on my scalp yet nor have i been able to really improve the thickness but the one thing that i have yet to read on any site and is proven by many is the simple way of growing your hair long. try oiling your hair properly and tying a tight a very tight braid not to the point it breaks your hair obv but a tight one. leave it like that over night. try this for a week and you ll see results. my hair literally gros long overnight in pakistan because i do this pretty often but Whenever im abroad it takes its own sweet time becasue i dont really take care of my hair there.
I hope these things help and if anyone can tell me a way of growing new hair on my scalp please do because my hair isnt all that bad but i really want my thickness back desperatly and nothing seems to have worked for me so far.
the technique is when your hair is oiled take shampoo in your hand mix it with water rub it all over your oiled hair and head then keep adding water to it n rubbing it through the shampoo will keep more foamy as you ll add water to it n soon your hair will be covered with shampoo or soap the way it is when you normally use it .. after that wash your hair and you ll find your hair to be completely oil free. wetting it before shampooing it only makes the oil stick so hard it doesnt come off before a second or third round !

Please Friend Suggest Me Good Tips For My Hair...
My Husband Doesn't Like My Hair....
Friends
Eating green leaf vegetables regularly you will have healthy and beautiful hair forever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this will help friends....
Bye!!!!
Honey, first, tell your husband to take a hike! If he truly loves you, he will try to help you instead of criticizing. He certainly is not a gentleman.
You should go to a dermatologist. Hope you have insurance. I have had your problem, even with very thin, fine type hair. There is a good chance you could have some hormonal problems, or, simply have psoriasis instead of simply dandruff. I did and use a tar base shampoo. I find it works better than other type shampoos, ie., Head and Shoulders, etc. Good luck and wish I could have talked to you before you married your Mister.
God bless. M.
I am only 20 years old but my hair is dropping so much. It's at an alarming rate right now. My confidence level has dropped tremendously.Even my friends tease me and tell me to go and get a hair transplant. I don't know how to comb it and avoid it from looking so thin and limpy. I am balding at the top of my head. I avoid going to salons now because the hair stylists always gets a shock when they see my hair. I have tried using egg white and rosemary herbs, cinnamon and honey with olive oil, rubbing onions on the bald patches, have tried changing shampoos, but nothing seems to work. I haven't highlighted or dyed my hair in more than a year already.I am in desperate need of help. Please please help me!!:-(
here are a few tips for great hair....
1) for oily hair, use the egg white ( the yolk makes the hair stink if used) and a little lemon juice.. mix well and apply to your hair..leave it on for half an hour.. its an excellent conditioner for oily hair.. and using the egg white only ensures there's no egg smell...
2) boil tea and coffee leaves for aboutr 15 min.. allow it to cool and rinse your hair with it.. it helps making hair shine.
3) grind fenugreek seeds using a little water and apply it hair.. this helps get rid of dandruff and makes hair feel heavier
I do wear wigs so I can keep my hair moist but it's beautiful when I do wear it out.
I love using Smooth 'N Shine after a good wash and conditioner using Mane n Tail, then I wrap it up to keep in the moisture. Using heavy products on your hair only weighs the hair down and clogs your hair folicles.
I promise keeping youre hair moist along with your favorite products will give you strong beautiful hair. Oh, and for us with relaxers, make sure you relax the hair on time, so that you wont have to comb through 2 different textures because that causes most of our breakage along with using all the strength we have in our bodies to comb our hair with these small tooth combs. If you try this, please reply to let me know how it worked for you.
I have incredibly long hair and it looks shiney and healthy... And it's thick!!... lol...I have a massive tip... wash your hair every third day, this alows your hair to get the best out of your natural oils before you strip them out with shampoo... also once a week, spend about a half an hour just massaging your scalp and combing your hair with you fingers, while you are at the shampoo stage... after that just rinse it out and condition as usual... but pleeeeeeeaaaaaassssse don't blow dry it, this will make it really frizzy sinse it is so clean.... and I know it sounds weird but, visual help works too... picture yourself with beautiful, long, thick, shiny hair and your body will produce it... if you do it enough... lol... but I had grown up with long, thin, blonde hair and I desided to try this.... I pictured myself with thick, dark hair, and my body actually changed my hair colour!!!!.... I now have thick, healthy, dark brown hair... It also grows about two centermetres a month, which is TWICE as fast as the normal rate!!!!.... hahahah.... so if you want to try it, give it a shot!!....:-D:-D oh yeah and if any one tells you to wash your hair with mayo... have a good look at what you're doing (doesn't this seem a little stupid???)... you will probs smell like a sandwhich afterwards.... lol...... it's also made from egg so really if you don't wash it out perfactly you will stink of off egg.... bad idea!!!.... lol..... so yeah take a shot at my idea and see what works for ya.... teheB-)
my friends commenting at me .please give any remedy
Thanks so much for the tips! I have thick, normal golden brown hair but it doesn't grow very fast. I will try a few of the things I saw on the site and hopefully it will grow faster. I'm also going to put some henna in it because it used to have a red tint to the sun and it still does but it's a lot less than it used to be, so hopefully that will solve the case! :-D Good luck to everyone with hair issues.
ps - is it true that using a plastic brush makes your hair staticky? just wondering...
you really need a protein cure once or twice a week
Do this avocado/egg/olive oil protein treatment:
1) Bring one avocado into a medium sized bowl.
Use a fork or anything else to get a smooth texture, without too much avocado bites. Add 1 teaspoon of extra [@] olive oil and blend them together
2) Crack one or two organic/normal eggs into the avocado/olive oil
3) Blend everything together.
Make sure it is properly blended.
4) Wet your hair, lukewarm water
5) Using a towel, gently press the water out. Gently!
6) Apply the treatment, all over your hair. From root to top. If you feel like you need more olive oil, get it now
7) Massage into the hair for 2 minutes or so, before you tuck the hair into a towel and leave it for 3 hours or more for maximum results. You can leave it for 30 minutes if you want, and don't feel like letting it stay for so long but ----
The longer the better!!
8) Remove towel, and rinse out with LUKEWARM or colder water. Rinsing this out, usually takes 10 minutes or so. Take your time to get it all out. Leave no rest!
9) If you feel like you need more moisture now, add a very small amount of extra [@] oil as a conditioner, and rinse it out. Finish with COLD water ~
10) When drying your hair with towel, press out the water. Don't go all crazy and massage, as it is damaging to your hair.
Wet hair breaks easily.
IMPORTANT:
> If you rinse with warm water, you are doing it wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! < You do NOT want boiled eggs in your hair. Rinse with lukewarm! :-)
Don't be all "Eww, eggs in the hair" ... because this treatment, is very powerful and super good for your hair.
"But it stink so bad :SSSS" - If you let that go before caring for your hair, then fine. Don't do it :-) Use your 'professional saloon protein treatment' with all the chemicals and maybe even less protein in it --
Yes, it may stink at first, but 10 minutes later you've totally forgotten about it and probably used to the smell
:-D
My hair is oily inside and outside it's dry, like dual in nature. so plz let me know which kind of treatment give the best results to my hair................tnx........
I recently got my hair cut... and the girl told me that none of the shampoos are going to really fix your hair. She told me that all that i could do is but a oil free heat care product in my hair to protect it from the sun.
the sun can damage ur hair a lot. Cause's thinning and color change and also can make ur hair oily becuase of sweat.
I have about three different sampoos in my shower becuase i found that using the same shampoo everyday leaves my hair with dandruff and a little dry.
I also do brush my hair a lot and do not use rubber bands in my hair (breaks hair easily) using a large amount of hair spray also damages ur hair becuase is contains a lot of alcohol.
I do an egg treatment once a week.. becuase thats all i need. But i just take a couple of eggs and beat them and simply put them in my hair let them soak! and the liner of the shell also makes good for acne!
also taking prenatal vitamins will help with growth
It is perfect to use right before a blow dry or even when you use a hair straightener. It helps tame those unruly flyaways and brings moisture to your dry ends. It has Milk Proteins in it, leaving your hair soft, shiny and totally put together ( I kind of stole that last line from the back of the product, but it is OH SO TRUE!) This product makes me happy ot have soft, shiny hair again.
thx
after you shampoo and condition. To get rid of frizz
use a little lotion and smooth it through your hair.
It really works great for dry, frizzy hair! Hope it helps!!!;-)
You need to use Bio Cleansing Shampoo - Leimo to get your hair shiny and silky again.
Do this on a daily basis. Hope this works.
