NATURAL HOME REMEDIES FOR BLACKHEADS

Blackheads are follicles that have wider opening than the normal. They are also known as open comedones and are often caused by over active sebaceous glands. Blackheads appear on the face, back, chest and other parts that have sebaceous glands. The blackheads are plugged with sebum and sloughed off cells and undergoes a chemical reaction that results in the oxidation of melanin. The residue formed in the follicle is responsible for providing black colour to the blackheads.

Remedy for Blackheads
I have been on the gin and raisins regime for over three months now and ALL of my inflamatory pain has gone away. Even my painful knee that I wore a brace on for years. I thought it was a joke but got tired of taking drugs and said what the heck! Wow! No longer in pain and I have more "pep in my step". Less than an ounce of gin per day, I can handle that!

Remedy for Blackheads
Take 2 eggs and separate the yolks and keep the egg white, apply egg white liquid directly to face where blackheads are present or use facial cotton and leave on face. For both techniques, leave on face for about 30-45 minutes. The egg white will harden so please dont move your face, better if you use under a fan.

dont wash your face with soap. wash your face with mud masks that you can buy at the store, or you can make your own out of clay that you can find in the sea. also wash your hair more often, and keep the hair out of your face.

I used a pore strip which only removed the yellow layer of gunk but the black stuff was still there. So I put some lemon juice and honey on my nose and it didn't remove them all but it washed away a bit of dirt... I'm still trying to find the perfect remedy - but so far this is good.
#24 - Kat - 11/28/2008 - 20:43
Take a tablespoon of Knox gelatin and a tablespoon of milk, mix together, and put them in the microwave for ten seconds. Use a cosmetic brush to spread across affected area. Let it sit and harden for about ten minutes. Peel off and you will see that your blackheads are gone!
#25 - Emily - 12/07/2008 - 13:02
crack open an egg and use the inner skin of the eggshell and place enough of the skin to cover up the blackhead. this draws it up until its ready to either burst on its own or for you to do the job. also dab with a q-tip a bit of rubbing alcohol, then peroxide, and finally a tad bit of sea salt which will help with the drying it up process. just had one on my nose and by using these methods, it only lasted the weekend.

Dont do the baking soda and water!!!! I now have a red, burning blotch on my face. Oh, and by the way, I still have blackheads!!!!
#36 - patty - 03/21/2009 - 07:56
Maybe its just me but I tried the honey and it made my face worse with blackheads along with other pimples!
#37 - val - 04/03/2009 - 23:34
I tried the baking soda and milk and I also ended up with a red and burning face for hours. Face feels and looks better today but blackheads are more noticable. I usually do pore cleanser strips after a hot shower and it works better than any remedy I have tried. Ran out so I might try steaming and then egg whites with lemon. Hopefully it works.
#38 - Mo - 04/05/2009 - 10:59
dont use lemon jucie it burned part of skin!:-[]
#39 - peelee - 04/17/2009 - 15:42
apply cucumber juice every alternate day.it will help you remove blackheads over a time.
#40 - mona - 04/19/2009 - 06:16
:-) just tried the squashed banana method and I love it . while applying it I felt my skin totally freshed and I stayed with the banana mask on for like 20 min . After it has dried I washed my face with warm water. My skin feels brighter and softer, and as far as for the blackheads : they really did become less darker , so I guess I'll continue using the squashed banana and see if these ugly things will goooo
#41 - souad - 04/25/2009 - 00:39
I once tried the tomato paste on my face .. it burned a loot even though I have an oily skin and the next day pimples were covering my face..
#42 - souad - 04/25/2009 - 00:44
>-( i have horrible acne and no matter how many remedys i try none of them work. DONT DO THE TOMATO, LEMON, OR BAKING POWDER remedy those make your face burn, increase acne, or cause an itchy blotchy spot. i am in the process of trying the egg liner one. ( take the inside of the egg, there is "skin" there, place over acne (anytype) and leave for 2, 3 minutes. roll off.)
#43 - a girl - 04/26/2009 - 17:24
steam is the best way to minimize blackheads. dont use orange, lemon or any other thing, it may worse ur skin.
#44 - Sahib - 05/11/2009 - 05:13
steam your face for 5-10 minutes
pat dry with clean towel
mix warm honey, nutmeg, lime zest and juice
apply the mixture and leave on face for 30 minutes.
it makes your skin smooth, soft, helps heal acne scars
and helps with blackheads. Use continously for a week and you'll see a BIG difference in your skin. Trust me its amazing!!
#45 - yo momma - 05/23/2009 - 20:16
take a cloth the size of your face and soak it in water as hot as you can stand it. Put it on your face until the cloth cools. Then wash your face with nutrogena blackhead remover. Hope this helps, it worked for me!!!!

Ive been dealing with acne for a while and it really bothers me having it.Whats the best way to get red of most of it??>-(
#47 - c-c - 05/26/2009 - 19:13
i've always just used biore pore strips every couple of days (they tell u not to do it more than once every 3 days). however, my mom told me one of her friends said that elmer's glue pretty much works the same way..ya know how glue peels after it dries? also, i can see how someone suggested aloe vera, it does the same thing too...maybe anything that sticks and peels? lol
#48 - Cchica - 05/26/2009 - 22:26
you can put lemon juice on your face for 10 minutes, HOWEVER this is a once in two weeks or for the most once a week formula. there is a good chemical reaction but if used to often it will dry out your face and that's not good pimple wise, can you get pimples if ur face is too dry or too oily. most effective for my was parsley and cinnamon boiled in milk and placed oon my faced for 15 mins a day. i saw an article on it in my local papers and didn't think it would work to be honest, but it, quite well
#49 - lola - 05/26/2009 - 22:30
i meant you can, not can you. also for pimples (i know this is a blackhead convention) you can spot treat with honey mixed in cinnamon. it is the most gentle and effective home made remedy. actually you just google it and see the many sites that agree. it is the least likely to leave you with a blackhead
#50 - lola - 05/26/2009 - 22:39
Does anyone use ProActiv? It doesn't work for me at all. Rofl. To get rid of black heads, I use the clean and clear blackhead scrub. It works really well if you use it every night.
#51 - Madeline - 06/01/2009 - 16:12

#57 - sophia - 07/13/2009 - 15:44
If the lemon juice is burning your skin try adding water to it . . .
#58 - GoodTip - 07/17/2009 - 08:34
I tried most of these and none of them worked but I tried avocado mixed up with olive oil. It left my skin soft an reduced the blackheads.
Some people complained that they got many pimples after they used one of the remedies. Thats supposed to happen. If you keep using the method it will clean your face completely ;-)
#59 - Jasmine - 07/20/2009 - 13:23
Well, my skin has a schedule. Here is what I do.

Monday= morning, I wash it with clean and clear foaming astringent, and warm water. Then sometime later during the day I apply an egg white mask for a half hour and wash it off with warm water. At night, I go with the Clearsil Ultra (which gives you clear skin in 3 MONTHS..not days), then Clearasil foaming pads, St. Ives astringent, then Clean and Clear stuff again, which I recomend, it [@] the oil right out of your face.

Tuesday= Morning is Clean and Clear foaming astringent, then I repeat monday nights regimen for tuesday night

Wenesday=monday

thursday=tuesday

friday=tuesday

on weekends I repeat trhe tuesday's. And if need I use banana then aply band aid after banana mask has dried. 10 minutes later bye bye blackheads. Toothpaste for pimples also works after a couple days (no gel paste)
#60 - Brianna - 08/04/2009 - 22:26
wash your face regularly...
drink lots of water...
avoid constipation problems.. add green vegatables and fruits to the daily food. Apply cucmber, papaya and banana paste and leave it for 10 minutes, and wash your face.. It works.
#61 - Sudhakar - 08/06/2009 - 11:43
:-o

#58: yes the toothpaste can dry out the pimple but you have to be VERY careful because it can also dry/burn the skin.. (i have a scar from trying this and doing it wrong once)... if you use toothpaste use only a light amount and don't apply it for long. wash it off in like a few min...
#62 - mercury - 08/07/2009 - 18:20
hi i have an acne problem i tried a lot of above mentioned remedies but they didnot workand i have also a problem of black heads so tell me the the best home remedy for the removal of these two problems
#63 - a girl - 08/10/2009 - 02:43
NO! Don't EVER use Tea Tree Oil at full strength on your face! It MUST be diluted in a carrier oil, or I wet a cotton ball first and THEN put the TTO on it. It does do a phenomenal job of keeping the skin clean and refreshed if used PROPERLY!
#64 - CMC - 08/10/2009 - 18:08
i use Australian Tea Tree Oil (it's 75% rubbing alcohol) to dry out any acne/pimples that I have and completely remove dirt, I apply it with a wash cloth, like an astringent, then rinse my face with warm water and wash it with a mild facial soap and apply oil-reducing moisturizer. I have done the egg white mask, and i feel like it is effective, but it can get expensive if you do it daily.

One thing is for certain, scraping your face with credit cards will remove the blackheads, however you will have bruises and scratches all over your face and your face will be puffy for about 24 hours.

So... be careful who you get your ideas from.
#65 - shay - 08/15/2009 - 17:33
I tried a masque of Royal Jelly with bee pollen and mixxed with baking powder and lemon juice- thick mask.... wore it for about fifteen minutes. Sponged off with soap and water lightly.... honey is so good for your skin, Loved - twas marvelous.
#66 - Spectator - 08/15/2009 - 23:58
OH MY GOODNESS!!! PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO ALL OF THESE REMEDIES WITHOUT GETTING A 2ND 3RD AND 4TH OPINION!!! IF IT'S NATURAL.. SUCH AS BANANA, HONEY, TOMATO, ETC... USE IT--BUT DON'T SMEAR YOUR FACE.. TEST ON A LESS SENSITIVE AREA LIKE YOUR NOSE BEFORE U TRUST THAT SOMEONE ELSES RESULT WILL WORK THE SAME FOR YOU. WATER IS THE BEST SKIN PURIFIER.. ALSO DIET IS IMPORTANT. I "EAT CLEAN" [THE EAT CLEAN DIET BY TOSCA RENO]. THAT HAS AIDED IN PREVENTING NEW BREAKOUTS. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF COMING UP WITH A NATURAL REMEDY THAT WILL BE 100 PERCENT SUCCESSFUL AT REMOVING BLACKHEADS.. WHEN I FIND IT I WILL POST.
#67 - TRUTHBTOLD - 08/20/2009 - 11:37
Elmer's glue. It works like a biore strip but is a heck of a lot cheaper. It doesn't burn your skin. You peel it off after about 5-10 minutes and you can see the results.
Try putting warm water on the area before you do it and then dry. That will open the pores better.
#68 - Suggestion - 08/21/2009 - 16:53
"you are what you eat"
so your diet is your key to beautiful, acne and black head free (also dark circles under eyes free) skin.

1) eat a lot of almond - great for prevention and cure for acne, blackheads, your brain cells and your hair! plus it DOES NOT BURN YOUR SKIN :)

2) drink lots of water, this keeps your skin tight, smooth and wrinkle free, along with acne free.

3) cucumbers, works great ontop of your skin, and when you eat them.

4) egg whites, but not too oily if fried.

if you eat these and natural things daily, your acne and black heads will go away faster than all the trouble of experiments on your skin.
#69 - justanote - 08/22/2009 - 21:35
all those ideas sound really crazy but hey have to give it a try.
#70 - destiny - 08/24/2009 - 02:31
One part Rubbing Alcohol and One part Baby Powder. Use as a mask. Once dried gently rinse face with luke warm water and wash face with a mild cleanser such as Neutrogena.

Try Apricot scrub 3 times a week. It will help in blackheads removal
#76 - Acne Treatment - Skinb5.com - 10/06/2009 - 07:31
cello tape does work on the nose, but you need a strong one, like duct tape, but not too strong you don't want to stretch your nose out.
#77 - cello tape - 10/09/2009 - 03:50
Banana is a very good one! I used it one night and squashed a bit of banana on my face after I had a shower and then waited till it dried up. Then I washed my face with warm water. It leaves your face fresh for days. I think it's really effective! I don't know if it removed my blackheads cos I only used it once, I will use it again for sure. :-D
#78 - Sparkly-Star - 10/11/2009 - 16:59
I have recently started seeing blackheads on the sides of my back, beneath my bra strap area and i think it is somehow related with the suffocation of the skin, and keeping dead skin cells and dirt/oil trapped on the surface...probably will try the banana but cleaning with cottonball/alcohol removed more dirt than i could have imagined was there, so we will see if that helps...it reminds me of clearasil pads when i was younger:)
#79 - yogagrl - 10/15/2009 - 19:35
Does the lemons juice really work?:-o
#80 - person-you-don't-know - 10/24/2009 - 21:28

#82 - human - 11/10/2009 - 16:10
I was also suffering from blackhead in my nose problem.i started cleaning nose properly before going to bed with light hand massage and i also tried apricot scrub twice/thrice a week.....Now i got rid of blackheads...
#83 - help - 11/29/2009 - 13:28
Using cello tape really works! I used it all over my face (though it was kind of hard to take it off) and I looked at all of the dead skin cells stuck to it! Yuk! But it was obvious that it was very effective. My face was a lot smoother, and it was a bit red for a few minutes, but it felt refreshing when I took off the tape! Also, MY BLACK HEADS WERE ALL GONE! I was also using a cheapo tape from the pound shop. So this is probably one of the most cheapest, and effective black head remover and skin exfoliater on the market! :- YAY!D;-):-):-DB-):-P
#84 - Laura Marven - 11/30/2009 - 12:00
I read in a magizine to rub some Elmers glue on the blackheads and let dry, then peel the dried glue off the area...Not sure if it works but its worth a try!

PLS TELL ME HOW REMOVE BLACK HEADS
#88 - HEMA - 12/20/2009 - 09:42
For me the best remedy is just every night you steam your face and you add some mint oil to the boiling water. then you gently squeeze out as many blackheads as possible. then you take a new bowl of water and add salt to it. you don need much water and the mixture shouldn't be too diluted. (do not let the salt dissolve) . take cotton, dip it in the salt water and dab it onto your face. the salt [@] up all the oil and exfoliates.. this helped me. :)

MIRACLE FOR BLACK HEADS
USE steam every alternate day and clean your face with The Body Shop's Aloe Calming Toner (ACT)every night with cotton pads, before going to bed.

If you want a glowing skin, put honey on your face for 20 mins after cleaning your skin with ACT. Wash with warm water and then rub skin gently with an ice cube to close the pores.

You will see amazing results very quickly...:-D

i've made this really good facial scrub and its working already and only used it once right heres whats in it honey, salt, few drops of lemon juice, few drops of TCP and cinnamon youll need more salf then anything not alot of cinnamon make it into a thick paste consistancy and you can keep it in a old cream tub and when you use it wet your face first with luke warm water and work the scrub in for 5-10 mins and leave it for a little while and wash off with luke warm water it does work im goign to try the banana one too but note before i did this with the scrub i steemed my face for 5 mins to open the pores and squeezed some of the black heads out gentaly but it deffo does work also to close your pores back up use some cold toner on some cotton wool, another method i tried was just tcp but it reallllly hurts so if you are going to do that do not use alott :)
#99 - jodieee - 02/06/2010 - 13:00
Ok, this is important:

You've all heard it before; You are what you eat.
- It's a fact!
Fresh fruit and vegetables cleanses your body, therefore also your skin. Putting on all those 'miracle' products that the beauty/ medical industry produce is not helping you, neither your skin. It is slowly destroying you - inside and out.
They often contain mineral oil, which suffocates your skin, not allowing it to breath. Pore blocking=more blackheads, and unpurities.
If you wonder why your creams isnt working, or why your skin isn't improving, there is a big chance it's because of those skincare products you use. They can be dangerous, and contain lots of chemicals.

Point: Put natural products on your skin.

Also: Drink lots of water! (8 glasses or more) - like fruits and vegetables, it really cleanses your body. Once in a while, add some freshly cut lemon drops !
Get used to drinking Green Tea on a daily basis. It contains lots of antioxydants and vitamins.
It's superhealthy, and you will actually get much clearer and better skin from drinking it. (try to add some lemon here too)
---------

I haven't tried so many home remedies, but those I've tried work so much better then any other I've ever tried.

Home remedies :

Nightly lemon care ----
1) Cut a lemon in half, and put some juice on damp skin. You decide the amount that fits for you. (not too much though as it will make your skin sticky)
2) Go to sleep! Wash off in the morning ~

This really brightens your skin + removes scars and discolorations. Naturally your blackheads will fade away

Note: Yes, it will sting a lot at first (this is because your skin isn't used to it yet), but trust me it will go away! This really helps on my pimples and blackheads.
- doing this reguraly = no pain

Green tea daily toner ------
1) For this you will need green tea. Any green tea will do, but organic is great. Make some green tea and put in the fridge or let it cool.
2) After cleaning your face with a natural face cleanser, apply the green tea all over your face, with a cotton pad. Do not cleanse this one out :-)
3) Put on your moisturizer.

This will reduce rednesses and even out your skin tone.
It will also reduce blackheads and pimples and over time you will be clear.
- I do this everyday, love it

Fresh lemon toner
1) With a cotton pad, dab on to your face using light pressure with your fingers. Applying to problem areas first, then the rest.
2) Wait 2 minutes - brush your teeth, eat a banana or whatever you like
3) Wash off and moisturize!

Now you are feeling clean and fresh, and the improving of your skin is starting ~

And one last thing:

> Using extra [@] olive oil as a moisturizer

Olive moisture
1) After cleansing and toning your skin, apply a small amount extra [@] olive oil all over your face. You wanna apply it lightly so it can sink in on itself.
- Don't apply too much, but not too little either!

This is great for night time. Your skin will have a healthy glow the next morning ~

Olive oil is very good for your skin !

- Using oils, like extra [@] olive oil and such, will not make your skin more oily. It may seem that way at first but if so, it's only temporarly.
Once it has sunken in to your skin, it will not look or feel oily. Then you have applied too much!

Remember, oils like olive and coconut is good because of the right type of fat.

The key is to not put on too much of anything. Don't rub too hard on your skin, and be gentle!

General rule:
Don't put anything on your skin that you wouldn't eat.

Hope this helped
:-)

apply coconut(olive) oil to the whole body & head and soak for an hour regularly every week, get the skin right and let the toxins in your body come out. Treating only the face will not help, the whole skin even the scalp has to be treated. olive makes the skin too soft so coconut is best. Stop using man made stuff like soaps and other shampoos, deodrants, sun tans. Use the herbal Meera like mixtures(turmeric / ambe halad). Remember your skin is also drinking in everything that you put on it. Rule is if you cant eat it dont put it on your skin. Avoid Chrolrinated water for bath and swimming pools. Eat good food , not processed food like maggies, white rice/sugar , maida. Should be organic with no pesticides and fertilizers used. Regularly consume some pure oil like olive, pure cow ghee (warm). This will remove the bacteria inside rather expell them out. You must work out a sweat not by steaming but by running , this will set up the deep cleaning process. Drink warm water and take isabgol at night, this will clear the colon and form a protective layer on the inner lining and prevent rich oily food from being absorbed into the blood. Purify the blood with regular lime juice, a dose of neem, septalin. Remember to fast completely for a day for the cleansing to happen. If you eat then the body starts working towards digestion functon. Fast completely to allow the body to focus on other cleansing activities. Body knows, allow it to do it. Pump less chemicals and it will automatically cleanse. Exposure to Sun is a must for D vit generation. Face is the projection of your guts. People order a cold coke/sprite with their meals DONT DO IT. Order a hot rasam or a hot herbal tea instead. That will melt the fat further. Use only natural pressed oils as super refined oils have other solvents to increase the shelf life which is harmfull STOP REFINED OILS. Once the oil is used for cooking, throw it or reuse for lamp oil. Visit an ayurvedic doctor and as per your body constitution he will tell you what fruits and vegetables you can eat and what you cannot. Follow it and you will see your skin glowing.

varun mudra is very essential join thumb and little finger. This will help your skin to glow. do it for min 15 mins three times in a day.

a combination of all the above will give a cheap and effective result.

To defend #16, she is not retared. Whether you think it's gross is your opinion, but the method does work. I've used it and gotten rid of blackheads. The one issue with it though, is that if you squeeze too hard, the next day you'll wake up with a big red bump in the same spot that looks similar to a cold sore. So just be careful.

I use Dr Wexler anti acne serum after I use proactive and my skin does not breakout after I wear makeup. I use prescriptives makeup. Ladies clearsil pads help to get rid of blackheads and I really believe the ultimate omega is helping tremedously. My acne had alot to do with my hormones and alot of you are suffering from the same.
#116 - Amber - 04/11/2010 - 22:18
I agree with people that have said to be careful when trying these remedies. You do not want to make matters worse and by testing on a small spot you can be more sure of the results. Also google and get 2nd opinions. Regarding PROACTIV it helped me a lot however I discovered it has a lot of chemicals. A friends towel got bleached with the face wash. I do not know about you but I do not want that kind of crap on my skin. I still have acne problems but believe natural remedies are the best.

DRINKING half a cucumeber blended in like on fourth cup of water daily cleared up someones face so that is what I am now working with.

Eating red and orange fruits and vegetables also help a lot.

DAIRY products have something that is prone to increasing acne problems so maybe you can watch out for them. I love cheese and I am not willing to give it up because of acne.

ITS IMPORTANT to get rid off acne but its not worth giving up things you enjoy PLUS remember that ones worth is not based on appearance. I know I am a beautiful...girl, chick, whatever, I'm 21 so.... but, regardless of my skin I'm beautiful!! and so are you. Oh and you guys are all handsome as well.

#126 - rnwd_17 - 04/27/2010 - 15:13
I have read through every comment on this page in search for a favorite remedy that might benefit me.

My face is relatively clear right now but I have struggled with acne all my life. I have been on accutane 4 times and a plethora of other medications. I no longer believe in taking medication for acne because it never cures it and only messes with your body. Accutane did cure my backnee though, and I am greatful for life, but now I have IBS and a messed up liver....so I dont know.

Anyways, Im keeping my acne at bay now on my own and I would like to share some of my ideas with you.

First of all the acne on my face is hugely respondent to stress. The less I worry about all my pimples the less I seem to get (easier said than done).

I have looked at a lot of peoples strict regimes for washing their faces and I have to say that less is more folks. There are people putting 10 thousand products on their face and I honestly dont know why you are surprised that your face is caked in acne.

Our skin has a delicate ph balance and doesnt like to be shocked with 4 scrubbings a day and 12 different products all containing alcohol and many other assortments of chemicals. Sorry, but that will never help you. You might think it keeps your acne down, but the truth is that you probably irritate your face and one thing in your list that you do is helping to take is down.

We all have to find something that works for us, and the best way to start is to find a cleanser you love and use it. Morning and night. Thats it. Neutrogena offers many great products for any kind of acne or situation you can think of. Its mild, but it still has acne fighting ingredients in it. Anyways, whatever it is you like to use, use it and dont use 5 other cleansers and 15 astringents and la la la.

Most of the time people use soo many products because they are impatient. You have to be patient with your face in its healing journey.

As far as black heads go, egg white and half a lemon squeezed into a bowl painted to a thin layer on the face reduced my blackheads within 5 minute (I wouldnt leave it on longer than that if you choose to include the lemon in it).

Also as far as natural remedies go, apple cider vinegar is one of the best things out there. It completely got rid of my perioral dermatitus that I suffer from occasionally.

Nothing in this world is going to work for everybody and my advice may not help you at all, but all I know is that when it comes to my skin and the skin of many of my friends who have never suffered from acne, is that LESS IS MORE. No one with a clear face uses 200 products so Im not sure why folks think that that is going to help.

Like I said, find something you love. Wash your face with it, moisturize always, and do some masks and treatments occasionally. If that doesnt work for you then Id say that you need to look into your eating habits, hormonal problems, and overall life style.

I worked in the food industry and have more pimples than Ive had in my life, and when I stopped I was fine. It was healthy food at a gym btw but there was cooking and ovens and a lot of stress involved.

So just think about what you are doing and how much stress is in your life, and try not to shock or dry your skin into being nice to you. Try to give it some love and maybe it will love you back.

pure aloe vera gel (if possible without colours and parabens) is great mosturiser for acne prone skin as it helps in healing scars and won't make your skin oily or clog your pores.

use a natural cleanser at least one with the least chemicals added to it and make a toner with 3:1 ratio of pure rosewater extract (not rose essence) : witch hazel and add couple of of drops of lavender oil to it, wipe ur face wit this toner after cleansing, this would help in calming your skin. make sure ur not allergic to lavender oil first.

Also once a week use a good clay mask after a hot bath or shower, if possible one with natural enzymes, as that would gently exfoliate your skin and prevent blackheads. after mask removal do mosturise.

Have a healty lifestyle, try to avoid refined sugar products, junk food, drink warm water with one tea spoon of raw honey first thing in the morning, have herbal teas instead of caffinated teas, have good quality milk, have pumpkins seeds (high in zinc and eseential fatty acids).

Oh yes like some else said change ur pillow case every week, that does help espicially if u have oily scalp, caz if u dont wash it often tat oil from ur pillow would be on ur face.

if u like wearing make up, use oil free non pore clogging foundation, and remove it properly before going to sleep.

Well I did the tea tree then coconut thing then I went on reading all the other comments and I saw the one that was all like you should never put tea tree oil full strength on your face so I ran and washed it odd and put some more coconut stuff on it and next time I'll make the cotton ball wet first, hopefully it will work
thanks guys
I'll probly try the banana thong sometime too

I'd never trust a person that can't spell. Or replaces every 'e' with '3'. I just wash my face with Cetaphil. It's gentle and effective. Make sure to use a moisturizer with SPF in it.

And the comment about rubbing shit on my face is not necessary.
#140 - Malerie - 07/11/2010 - 21:37
Uhm, well toothPASTE, not gel, but paste without to much peroxide in it works AMAzingly on my skin, don't use it too often though, or it may worsen your skin, you may want to use it every other night, or maybe just a few times a week.
#141 - Nicoleee - 07/18/2010 - 01:03
on my part, i just place a warm towel on my face for about 15 minutes and i use blackheads remover tool and rub a toner after.
#142 - Ivy - 07/25/2010 - 01:16
:-) something that definitely worked for me, and still does

mix together brown sugar and water to make a really thick paste.
rub that onto your face and then leave it, once it starts to go hard and crumbly rinse it with luke warm water.
then use a facecloth under hot water (as hot as you can cope with on your face) and place it over the major areas where your blackheads are, leave it there til it cools and repeat about 4 times, or at least until you can see your pores open.
using dove soap and a rough cloth (or even sand/bead based face scrubs) scrub your face until it starts to go a little bit red.
repeat the hot cloth motion until all the soap (or face scrub) is gone
then rinse thoroughly with cold water, and i mean cold, this will close your pores completely.

hope this works for you, it has worked like a miracle in one sitting for me (=

OKay, so, I'm only like thirteen, and I have a lot of suggestions for acne, blackheads, and pimples, since I really have a lot of those things, I have a lot of suggestions.
1. Drink lots of water and eat lots of healthy foods. It helps clear your body of toxins, and it really helps you with your whole acne problem. the first step to getting rid of acne and all those other sorts of things is through your eating and clearing out the toxins out of your body. So, you can try drinking burdock root tea, green tea, red tea, or any other sort of tea that cleanes the body. Prevention is better than cure.
2. Exfoliation helps a lot since it gets rid of the dead skin cells and that allows for new growth. It's pretty much the same with toners, but if you double cleanse, you don't need a toner. Double cleansing is basically when you use two different cleansers. It's better to do that in the evening, but double cleansing does not mean that you skip cleansing your face in the morning. Papaya is the best known natural abrasive exfoliator. Be sure to use a ripe juicy papaya. use the inside of the skin to wipe your face. Let it stay on for about 15 mins, and then rinse it off with warm water. Do this for a prolonged period of time, and you will notice the difference. Papaya contains a special enzyme called papin that helps post acne marks fade over time.
* a good idea for a toner is witch hazel
3. Use oils. Another thing that you should do is use oils. they are very good for your skin especially if you have oily skin. If you apply oil on your skin, then it tricks your body into thinking that there is enough oil on your face and it reduces the amount of sebum produced.
btw. It is okay to use tea tree oil directly on your face, but you have to use it deirectly on the blemishes.

This treatment does not work for anyone trust me. It burns!!! Just use antibacterial soap and a washcloth scrub your face twice daily>-(
#151 - mike2012 - 10/07/2010 - 13:29
Wet face with a warm rag wait until it dries or gently pat dry with dry towl/rag then apply elmers liquid glue (or basic liquid glue) let it sit for about 10-15 minutes peel off then get your wet rag and run it under hot water (be cautious of water temp.) put it on your face until rag turns cool then lastly let it air dry. Repeat this method as desired but it minimizes blackhead size more and more each time by clensing the upper part of the pore. If you look at the glue as your pulling it off you'll see a white substance sometimes black (results may vary) on the glue. And stay AWAY from greasy and sweet foods as well as soft drinks. Especially coke, sun drop and pepsi

Baking powder for 5 minutes. Scrub off then get a cotton cloth and ice. Put it on the place you put the vaking powder and thats it. Do that for a week and the blackheads are gone!
#159 - Loren - 11/04/2010 - 15:34
I've used loads of things. Including a range of tea tree oil scrubs, wipes and body washes from the body shop but they don't work for me. I have to say although it doesn't get rid of blackheads completely cellotape kinda works and well I use Garnier's little brusher thing which keeps my spots at bay. And now I'm off to use a banana ;-)
#160 - CC.Ruasonid - 11/07/2010 - 14:55
Good to see you can add yourself to the list of retarded people.

Alot of the things given here may not work but some combined with common sense work better than cosmetic products.

For example
People with dry skin tend to be allergic to alcohol which is a staple ingredient in most skin creams. So homemade moisturisers offer a nice alternative

#164 - Ryan - 11/24/2010 - 08:30
i have the clearest face anyone can possibly imagine. i use an organic face wash followed by a natural moisturiser to purify my complexion. this works a treat but acne and blackheads are also caused by a lack of nutricious foods. dont eat crap food and you wont have gross skin.... simple.

goooood luck!

xx

this is a really good way to remove blackheads
1)have a shower or steam your face
2)mix 1 parts milk to 1 part gelatin
3)microwave for 15 seconds
4)and apply where needed wait 15 mins
5)slowly peel off
6)and use a good moisturzer
#168 - shymal - 12/12/2010 - 22:20
:-)try hydrogen peroxide. after you cleanse your face, when going to bed, use a cotton ball an dip it in the hydrogen peroxide, and wipe it around your face, this works for me very well, and it works in a couple days. but one thing though, it will bleach ur hair, but it works very good. take it from a black girl
#169 - Deidre - 12/19/2010 - 13:57
This is not an "instant cure", but in 2 day of doing it, my b/f's face has reduced the amount/appearace & existance of blackheads dramatically.

Mix cinnamon & oil until it forms a paste.
Apply to affected area, let sit for 2 minutes
Scrub gently
Remove with a hot towel

Mix the juice of 1 lemon & 3 egg whites
apply to affected area
let sit for 5 minutes
wipe off with hot towel, or peel off

mash 1 banana
apply to face
let sit for 5 minutes
wipe off with a hot towel

mix 1 tablespoon knox geletin w/1 tablespoon milk
apply to affected area
let dry, pel off

I always end by rubbing an ice cube wrapped in a towel on face, to close the pores.

I only do the geletin every other day, the rest has been daily.

I also have rinsed/wiped off the excess cinnamon/oil mixture with a cotton ball dipped in apple cider vineger, after wiping it off with the towel.

I do not have blackheads/pimples...never have. He, on the other hand, has had them all his life.If you are doing this to yourself, it might be easier to rinse w/hot/warm water, rather than wiping with a towel.

And rinsing with cold water would work just as well as the ice cube.

Just thought I'd share :-D

Witch Hazel

It's cheap and natural. Use with a cotton pad/ball after cleansing. It helps shink pores and helps heal and calm the skin. It works by shrinking the blood vessles back to nomal size. It's normaly used for insect bits and briuses. It also helps with oil management. If you have oily skin!
You can buy it in any drug store.

One thing that worked for me but was somewhat painful was the lemon,
i rubed some lemon juice on my face and then steamed it. there were certain parts of my face that BURNED! soo bad. but i quickly rinsed those parts and my face felt great after the steaming, including all the other parts with lemon.
One thing thats greatly reduced any problems ive had with my skin is steaming my face and immediately exfoliating after. I used a combination of honey, lemon and sugar and it makes my face feel great as well as clean and fresh! :) hope this helps!
#172 - Marlene - 01/13/2011 - 20:53
buy some muriatic acid and wash it all over your face !!! very effective!! :-P
#173 - michael J - 01/17/2011 - 16:30
whenever you are trying out a new remedy for anything to do with your skin just do a patch test-one of the best places is behind the ear as it is a sensitive area. you may have a reaction to food that you eat every day-this is an external reaction. all my life i have been able to eat fruit but whenever i use it in cleansers/scrubs my skin gets burn marks on it.
when i did my beauticians course, we used the same method as Isabella (#16) the heat from the steaming helps to open the pores so the blackheads will come out easier, and the tissues also help to stop any marks on the skin from squeezing them too hard.
masks are the best way to remove blackheads because they have a great drawing effect on the skin. try steaming your face for 10 mins with a hot towel after you remove the mask then use the method that #16 has explained.
if you use a mask from the supermarket/your beautician make sure you know if there is supposed to be a tingling feeling or not. if you feel any tingling take it off straight away to avoid getting a reaction

DO NOT put MURATIC acid on your face as instructed by #176 michael J. Muriatic acid is a dilute form of hydrochloric acid and is a dangerous industrial chemcial. To michael J: I find your suggestion unconscionable.

#180 - chanzler - 02/23/2011 - 20:30
For only a little bit of money and effort, you can get rid of your blackheads forever! I did this myself, and I've never looked better. Trust me.

Ingredients:
     2 large eggs
     1 cup vegetable oil
     2 tablespoons lemon juice
     3 tablespoons HCl
     3 tablespoons kosher salt

Procedure:
     1) Bring all ingredients to room temperature.
     2) Place the salt and the yolks of the eggs in a large bowl, discarding the whites. Beat them until they just begin to look stiff. You may also use a food processor.
     3) Start to drizzle the oil into the bowl or food processor. Do this slowly, or else it won't emulsify. Continue beating or processing the mixture until most or all of the oil is incorporated.
     4) Very carefully, add and mix in the lemon juice and HCl. Be sure to avoid splashes, as contact with those ingredients may cause skin irritation.
     5) Apply mixture to the affected area. There may be a burning sensation, but that's normal. Wait 10 minutes, and then wash off with lukewarm water. Wear gloves during application and removal, and use caution when disposing of the used mixture.

Of course, there is some risk of adverse reactions, as with all medical treatments. Consult your doctor, dermatologist, pharmacist, or chemist before attempting this treatment. Always wear gloves when handling hazardous materials. I bear no responsibility for any harm that may come to someone who uses this advice.
i,m new in dis, but try to steam your face with hot paper towel evry nite before gonin to bed.
wash yr face wit hot water, and apply a littel bit of your body lotion. It really works for me. Aso try drinking so much water so as to make ur body smooth and refreshing (especially your face).

To remove blackheads apply a scrub daily and rub with your fingertips. you may also take blackhead eliminating scrub instead.this is really an effective one for blackheads.
#186 - Arshiya - 04/29/2011 - 06:54
My thoughts. Eat healthy, mainly more water. Wash your face well. Long showers r okay. There is no need to use alot of different chemicals. And when your black head looks ready to pop just apply slight pressure on both sides of it. Don't try to hard!!! Lastly I am on a site for home remedies but really don't use these remedies. Or use them sparingly as they will burn your face. Anyway I am 14 and have some black heads and acne but I think it's normal and I'll just have to live with washing, eating, and sleeping well.

I once got a scar from using toothpaste the wrong way, and I way to clear it is to take egg whites and dab some cotton in it. Scrub it onto the scar for a bit, and you'll see the scar stuff coming off. Then just use a good moisturizer. It worked perfectly for me, and I totally got rid of the scar.

;-);-)

I also have a routine for my face, not just for blackheads, but for acne and other stuff. When I get up in the morning I take a face towel and run steaming hot water on it, then I wipe my face with that. While my face is wet, I put Dove Bar Soap on my hand and massage it into my face. Then I rinse it with more hot water, and then rinse it again with cold water. Then dry. I usually don't put much moisturizer. Then at night I do the exact same thing, and I just do that everyday. As for specifically blackheads. I'm looking towards this banana thing. I think it may work, because it makes sense.
#189 - SpreadtheHendrix - 05/24/2011 - 17:05
for clear soft skin drink warm water with a squeeze of lemon first thing in the morning. Wash your face with hot water for 30 sec then immediately after with cold water for 10 sec. you'll have baby soft skin. It really works!!!!
#190 - jessica - 05/26/2011 - 23:58
I really thought #8 was a joke and then I saw a lot of other people tried the banana, then I saw the suggestion to blend a banana, salt, lemon juice and honey - I did it last night and my face felt so soft right after I rinsed and then a couple hours later I noticed all the small bumps (not pimples, not blackheads, just clogged up pores) on the side of my face were GONE!! This moring my face looks so smooth and clear! Pimples that were there are a lot smaller and less red, blackheads are gone and overall my face looks smooth!

:-) Hey guys, just discovered an awesome scrub.
Pour some hand hot water in a cup, add porridge oats, a tsp of honey (any kind), a small amount of milk, and baking soda. Leave it on as long as you feel necesarry but I advise no longer then ten minutes is necessary, three-five minutes in the least. Then either was it off or scrub it away gentily with an old toothbrush and lukewarm water! Thanks, YouknowIt

I found that the best way to get rid of blackheads is to wipe your face with a rag and hot water, THEN steam if. After that, put Elmer's glue on the affected spots, let it dry, then wipe it off with the wet cloth. THEN steam again, and use duct tape. Leave it on for like 2-5 minutes, peel off, then wipe off your face with the hot water again, and put on some lotion.

It may seem like a long process, but I did those same steps just tonight, and my sister says she can't see barely any blackheads anymore!
